Whirlpool invests R$ 300 million in Rio Claro, expands factory, and promises to create job opportunities and strengthen the Brazilian industrial economy in 2026.
Whirlpool announced that it aims to open 200 job positions and invest R$ 300 million in its Rio Claro unit, in the interior of São Paulo. According to a publication by G1 on May 25, 2026, the decision comes after the closure of the Pilar factory in Argentina and marks a new phase of the company’s industrial strategy in Latin America.
According to the company, the Brazilian unit will concentrate an important part of the production of home appliances, using artificial intelligence, robotics, and automated systems. Vice President Vinícius Tokuda explained that the start of production of the new operation is scheduled for September 2026. The expectation is that Rio Claro will become the brand’s main regional hub in the premium laundry segment.
