The Positions Offered by Ibama Are for Firefighter, Squad Leader, Brigade Chief and Brigade Supervisor
Applications started this Tuesday (23) for the Ibama (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) concurso for temporary positions. In total, there will be 841 opportunities for combating forest fires in 14 states and the Federal District.

The positions at Ibama are for firefighter, squad leader, brigade chief, and brigade supervisor. The published notices are for posts in Acre, Amazonas, Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rondônia, Tocantins, Rio de Janeiro, and Ceará, in addition to the Federal District.

Salary for the positions described above ranges from R$ 1,045 to R$ 5,225. Contracts will last for five or six months, depending on the location of each position.
To compete for the roles of firefighter and squad leader, being literate is sufficient. For brigade chief and state brigade supervisor, a high school diploma is required. For federal brigade supervisor, a higher education degree is mandatory.
- Age between 18 and 59;
- Training Course for Fire Prevention and Control Brigades provided by Ibama or ICMBio (for firefighter, squad leader, and brigade chief);
- Experience in forest fire activities, environmental management, and/or recovery of degraded areas (for state and federal brigade supervisor).
To register for the Ibama concurso, candidates should keep an eye on the following schedule:
- State brigade supervisor: from June 23 to July 3;
- Federal brigade supervisor: from June 25 to 26;
- Firefighter, squad leader, and brigade chief: from June 23 to July 7.
