Meet The Most Powerful Offshore Wind Turbine In The World That Is Closer Than Ever To Becoming A Reality And Find Out Which Offshore Wind Farm It Will Supply
In December last year, when Time magazine listed the Haliade-X among the best inventions of 2019, it was just one of a series of milestones for the powerful machine – the most powerful offshore wind turbine in operation today. Following its media spotlight, the Haliade-X set a world record by generating 288 megawatt-hours of electricity in a single day.

Testing Phase Of The Haliade X 12MW Wind Turbine
During this testing phase, GE Renewable Energy will collect the necessary data to obtain its type certification, a key step to begin marketing the product in 2021.
Meanwhile, in Saint Nazaire, a second Haliade X 12 MW is being assembled, which will be sent to the ORE Catapult testing center in Blyth, United Kingdom. This second wind turbine will be installed on a vessel under real operating conditions, thereby reducing the time needed to confirm performance and reliability levels.

New catalyst developed by scientists in the USA enhances the performance of water electrolysis without using platinum, reducing operational costs and expanding the potential of green hydrogen as a strategic alternative for industries, heavy transportation, and clean energy generation.
This presentation marked the beginning of the new phase of GE Renewable Energy’s commitment to restructuring its offshore wind turbine segment. A project that reflects the company’s ability to invest and innovate, supporting its customers in a highly competitive and rapidly growing market.
With the Haliade X 12 MW, they are preparing the future of the offshore wind industry in Saint Nazaire, which is a reference site for international offshore wind projects.
GE Renewable Energy Signs Contract To Supply 190 Wind Turbines
Haliade-X has now reached another milestone: Today, GE Renewable Energy signed the first contract for the wire champion, agreeing to supply 190 Haliade-X 13 MW wind turbines for Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B, the first two phases of what will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm, located in the North Sea, approximately 130 kilometers off the English coast.
