More than R$ 526 million generated in oil in 2025 was not enough to place Espírito Santo in the lead of innovation — and the data shows exactly where the bottleneck is.
The Brazilian oil company stated that as of April 24, out of 46,416 collaborators, 184 employees tested positive for the new coronavirus.
So far, 1,301 are suspected of being contaminated. The state-owned company claims that it is conducting pre-boarding tests at all airports and is in constant contact with the unions to discuss preventive measures.
“The company monitors all suspected cases among our collaborators, both inside and outside our units, since the first report of symptoms,” Petrobras stated in a note.
Unions Will Appeal for Interdiction of Petrobras Platforms Due to Coronavirus Contamination
The interruption of operations in seven Petrobras platforms in the Campos Basin will be requested by the Unified Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) and Sindipetro Norte Fluminense (Sindipetro NF) to the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP) and the Sanitary Surveillance, due to the number of contaminated workers.
The cases occurred at the oil company’s units P-26, P-50, P-18, P-35, P-20, P-33, and P-62, all in the Campos Basin, reported the Unified Federation of Oil Workers.
FUP also reported that according to information received through the whistleblowing channel created by Sindipetro-NF, daily, two to three workers on board have left their jobs on the platforms with symptoms of the disease.
The unions accuse the state-owned company of being negligent in adopting preventive health measures to avoid the contamination of employees by the new coronavirus.
