Sapura reported that safety measures were taken, and those involved in the case are doing well, without having presented severe symptoms.
On April 24th, as a safety measure, Sapura isolated an employee who showed symptoms of the new coronavirus; the professional was monitored by the internal team until it was possible for them to disembark, which occurred two days after the first symptom.
Sapura also conducted a rapid COVID-19 test (for IgM and IgG antibodies) aboard for the employees who had contact with the coronavirus-infected collaborator as a safety measure.
According to the company, despite the test results of the group being negative, Sapura deemed it best to disembark the employees, keep them in quarantine at a hotel, and conduct a new RT-PCR test.
The new result indicated seven employees positive for the new coronavirus. Immediately, the company suspended the activities of the PLSV Sapura Jade and mobilized the professionals for internal quarantine while awaiting the arrival of agents from Anvisa.
The following day (02), the company sent a health team to the vessel to conduct RT-PCR tests on all onboard.
For health and safety measures, they were directed to a dedicated hotel, where they will await the test results in quarantine. The company also informs that the ship will undergo specialized sanitary cleaning.
