Last year, a universe of 38,000 students was catapulted into new linguistic horizons, thanks to these wonderful courses. And we are not just talking about basic classes. The Language Study Centers (CELs) are these transformative spaces, with classes ranging from English to Mandarin, including Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Japanese, as well as Portuguese for foreigners and Libras.

The linguistic journey proposed by the CELs is robust, with courses such as English and Mandarin designed specifically for High School students and a duration that embraces three years of intensive learning. But the benefits don’t stop there. Spanish, German, French, Italian, Japanese, and Mandarin are available in semester modules for students starting from the 7th grade of Elementary School and for those in Youth and Adult Education (EJA). And for those who wish to communicate through signals, Libras classes offer an incredible opportunity for inclusion and learning.

With such a diverse offering, it’s no surprise that success stories are frequent among the course participants. Inspired by the story of Anne Frank, Geovana saw in German a chance for growth and professional fulfillment, a decision that not only earned her a job but also a proficiency certificate from the renowned Goethe Institute.
With a structure designed for flexibility, the CELs allow even those with tight schedules to find time to learn. Each unit has the autonomy to form its classes, organize class schedules, and announce the results of the registrations. The courses follow the academic calendar and are set to start on February 15, 2024.

This inclusion knows no barriers, as Libras classes are offered to students starting from the 7th grade of Elementary School, with an intensive three-semester course. And for those coming from abroad who wish to delve into the language of Machado de Assis and Clarice Lispector, Portuguese as a foreign language opens its doors widely. These courses are structured to last a year and a half, an ideal period for complete immersion in the language and Brazilian culture.
