Federal University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA) Offers Extension Course in Civil Aviation
According to aeroin, the Federal University of the Semi-Arid (UFERSA) is providing a unique opportunity for low-income individuals interested in obtaining an airplane pilot license. The extension course for civil aviation pilots is part of the Pilots of the Semi-Arid project, one of the initiatives of the Wings for All Program, launched by the Federal Government in April.
Complete and Inclusive Training for Future Pilots
The course is free and offers 20 spots, with 10 of them preferably reserved for women. The goal is to ensure comprehensive training for commercial airplane pilots, focusing on diversity and inclusion. In this way, the project strengthens aeronautical education and democratizes access to pilot training in the country.

Course Stages and Licenses Obtained
The course will be in-person and aims to train pilots up to the stage of obtaining the following licenses:

Benefits for Selected Candidates
Selected candidates are exempt from registration and enrollment fees. The costs of accommodation, food, and transportation will be the only expenses, as the course will be held in Mossoró (RN), where UFERSA is located.

Selection Process and Applications
In the first stage, 200 candidates will be pre-selected, with preference for 100 men and 100 women. From this group, 20 will be chosen, consisting of 10 women and 10 men, while the other 80 will remain in reserve list.
To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico)
- Be Brazilian
- Have a completed higher education degree or be in the process of finishing it (with at most two periods remaining)
- Not hold a pilot license
