New digital query will allow tracking pending FGTS deposits, checking values linked to the worker’s account, and understanding if there is money that still needs to be directed to the fund.
Workers who suspect overdue FGTS will have a new way to track pending amounts starting June 1, 2026, when the PGFN will centralize the consultation and regularization of FGTS amounts already forwarded for recovery on the Portal Regularize. The change was confirmed by the Ministry of Finance in a publication on May 8, 2026.
The most important detail is that this novelty brings the worker closer to money that should have already been deposited. Online, it will be possible to track the status of overdue FGTS without leaving home, while companies will have up to 30 days to inform how much should be directed to each employee.
Overdue FGTS can be tracked online starting in June
The change reorganizes the process for consulting and regularizing pending amounts of the Severance Guarantee Fund.

Starting June 1, 2026, services related to FGTS amounts already forwarded for recovery by the PGFN will be handled through the Portal Regularize.
In practice, the worker gains a clearer reference point to track situations where fund deposits were not made correctly by the employer.
The proposal is to centralize steps that were previously more scattered across systems and institutions, facilitating digital tracking.
Portal Regularize becomes the new way to consult pending amounts
The Portal Regularize will now bring together services such as consultation, guide issuance, negotiation, and requests for revision of FGTS-related amounts, in cases where there is no active negotiation with Caixa.
For the worker, the main effect is the ability to more clearly track the status of pending amounts.
The goal is to make the process faster and less fragmented, especially in cases where the money should have already entered the linked FGTS account.
The migration will be done digitally, which reduces the need for travel and facilitates access to information.
Companies will have 30 days to detail the amounts for each worker
A decisive point of the change is the individualization of amounts.
This means that the company needs to inform how much corresponds to each worker, so that the recovered money is directed correctly.
The PGFN informed that this detailing will also be done directly on Regularize, quickly and online. Employers will have a maximum of 30 days to complete this step.
This part is essential because it’s not enough to recover the total amount. The money needs to be identified per worker to reach the correct account.
Recovered money goes directly to FGTS accounts
The FGTS functions as a reserve formed by monthly deposits made by the employer on behalf of the worker.
A deposit equivalent to 8% of the salary is foreseen in a linked account, without deduction from the employee’s payment. The balance can be used in situations such as dismissal without just cause, retirement, serious illnesses, and home purchase.
When amounts are not deposited correctly and go through the recovery process, the goal is for the money to return to its rightful destination.
According to the Ministry of Finance, once recovered, the due amounts go directly to the workers’ accounts.
Almost R$ 5 billion recovered in the last five years
The numbers show why the change is noteworthy.
The recovery of overdue FGTS amounts has already reached almost R$ 5 billion in the last five years, according to the Ministry of Finance.
Only in 2025, R$ 2 billion were recovered. In 2026, between January and February alone, the amount reached R$ 142 million, exceeding the R$ 138 million recorded in the same period of the previous year.
These data show that the measure is not just about a system change. It involves a significant volume of money that belongs to the workers.
Caixa will still remain responsible for part of the FGTS services
The change does not mean that all services related to FGTS will no longer be handled by Caixa Econômica Federal.
Caixa will continue with functions such as issuing the FGTS Regularity Certificate, managing agreements already formalized until their conclusion or termination, and handling amounts that have not yet been forwarded for the recovery stage by PGFN.
Cases that already have active negotiation also remain under Caixa’s management.
Therefore, the worker must check the status of their FGTS before seeking the correct channel.
Migration aims to simplify the process for those awaiting the deposit
The government states that the change is part of a reorganization between PGFN and Caixa, aligned with an agreement signed in 2024, to standardize procedures and better organize the flows related to FGTS.
In practice, the promise is to reduce overlaps, centralize information, and facilitate the routine of those who need to track pending amounts.
For the worker, this can mean less difficulty in understanding where to consult, how to track, and at what stage the regularization is.
The measure also pressures companies to correctly detail the amounts for each employee within the foreseen deadline.
Overdue FGTS also affects housing, sanitation, and infrastructure
The impact of FGTS goes beyond the worker’s individual account.
Part of the fund’s resources is also used in public policies in the areas of housing, basic sanitation, and infrastructure.
Therefore, when a company fails to deposit FGTS correctly, the problem does not only affect the employee who did not receive the amount in the fund.
It also reduces the strength of a system that finances structural projects in the country.
New online consultation puts forgotten money back on the radar
The progress of overdue FGTS through the Regularize Portal shows how the digitalization of public services can directly impact money belonging to the worker.
The change does not create a new benefit. It aims to facilitate the path to recover amounts that should have already been deposited.
With online consultation, digital tracking, and a 30-day deadline for companies to detail the amounts, the process now has a clearer showcase for those looking to understand if there are pending deposits.
The result will still depend on data migration, information updates, and company responses. But from June, overdue FGTS will have a more visible, digital, and accessible path for millions of workers to track from home.
