Investment Brings Significant Improvements to Road Infrastructure and Boosts the Local Economy, with Ambitious Goals for the Future
The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) is making a significant investment in Minas Gerais, allocating R$ 1 billion for the maintenance of federal highways. This investment is part of a total of R$ 20 billion allocated by the agency for the conservation of roads throughout Brazil.
Improvement in the Condition of Highways
The resources invested in 2023 totaled R$ 512 million, with an additional R$ 500 million already applied to 2024. This capital injection has shown results, with the percentage of highways classified as good on the Maintenance Condition Index (ICM) rising from 42.2% in December 2022 to 58% in October 2024. At the same time, roads in poor condition fell from 22% to just 5%.

Ambitious Goals for the Future
Dnit plans to end 2024 with at least 65% of highways classified as good. For 2025, the goal is to raise this percentage to above 75%, ensuring that only 25% of the roads are considered regular, while the rates of bad or terrible roads are reduced to almost zero. The superintendent emphasizes that this goal is realistic, considering the extent of the road network of 5,200 kilometers in Minas Gerais.
Additional Investments with the BR-Legal 2 Program
In addition to this investment, Minas Gerais will receive R$ 400 million from the BR-Legal 2 program, which aims to increase safety on federal highways. These resources will be applied to the implementation and maintenance of signage and safety devices, with some work expected to start later this year.

Bom dia, aqui na BR 267, no trecho entre Juiz de Fora e Lima Duarte estão fazendo o recapiamento e deixando vários trechos sem renovar o recapiamento onde já está formando buracos na pista devido ao grande número de carretas que passam por aqui. Aproveitando quero falar sobre as quatro saídas de Lima Duarte (trevos) que ficam na área urbana da cidade e não tem radares pra controlar a velocidade dos carros e principalmente carretas que passam em alta velocidade colocando em riscos todos que fazem uso diário da BR, onde vêem acontecendo vários acidentes sempre com vítimas fatias, já que estão fazendo melhorias na Br 267 em Minas, poderiam da uma atenção instalando radares pra evitar que mais vidas sejam perdidas aqui na nossa cidade de Lima Duarte, desde já agradecemos pela atenção e aguardamos que providências sejam tomadas, Maurício.
