DOF’s Contracts With Petrobras and Equinor
DOF’s anchor handler, Skandi Paraty, gained a one-year contract extension with Petrobras until July 2022. The vessel has a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operated by DOF Subsea Brasil. Additionally, DOF’s Skandi Iguaçu is contracted by Equinor under a spot contract for use in July and August.
DOF ASA did not provide further details about the contracts, nor which projects are in question. This is not the first time DOF has worked with the oil and gas giants Petrobras and Equinor. Last June, the vessels Skandi Urca and Skandi Fluminense AHTS were named to support Petrobras’s exploration and production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf, while six months later, Skandi Rio was contracted for the same project.

Petrobras closed a three-year contract with DOF for the Skandi Rio vessel late last year. The towing and anchor handling vessel will support Petrobras’s exploration and production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf. Skandi Rio is an AHTS vessel built under Brazilian flag, equipped with work-class ROVs for operations up to 3,000 meters deep. The vessel has a UT 722 L design built in 2007.
DOF’s CEO states in a statement, “I am very pleased with the awarding of the contract, which confirms DOF Group’s strong position in the South American region.” Previously, the vessel was operating for the French multinational Total, also in Brazil, under a contract signed in May 2019. The contract was set to expire in 13 firm months with two options for six months.
