Petrobras is considering delaying the ongoing contract negotiation process for another sixty days.

The proposal submission dates were set for the end of this month; the two tenders were initiated before the oil crisis and the worsening of the pandemic in Brazil.

One of Petrobras’ tenders includes the hiring of a unit capable of operating in a water depth of 2,400 m and another, one or more rigs for operation in 700 m of water depth.

The oil crisis and the pandemic create uncertainty in the market regarding how the tenders will proceed, as Petrobras, in light of the new scenario, may not want to continue with the proposals or even cancel the notices after the new delays.

The tender for the 2,400 m rigs is intended to meet campaigns in the Campos, Santos, and Espírito Santo basins.

The notice stipulates that the unit must be ready for operation in the first quarter of 2021, chartered for a period of three years.

Meanwhile, the process for the anchored units anticipates a chartering period of 1,365 days, starting on December 31, 2020, with the possibility of an extension for 460 days. by – PetroleoHoje
