Electrolux’s smart washer combines high capacity, dirt sensors, sanitizing steam, automatic dosing, and app control in a proposal aimed at transforming the home laundry with more automation, hygiene, resource savings, and user guidance during cycles.

Electrolux has placed the home laundry at the center of the connected home with a front-loading washing machine from the UltimateCare 900 line, combining 12 kg capacity, smart cycle for a full load in 45 minutes, automatic detergent dosing, dirt sensors, steam for sanitization, app connectivity, and an interface designed to guide the user during program selection.

On the official Electrolux page in Australia, the model appears as the 12kg UltimateCare 900 Front Load Washing Machine, identified by the code EWF1242R9WC, with 850 mm in height, 600 mm in width, and 659 mm in depth.

Aimed at homes with high usage demand, the proposal combines high internal volume with automatic features designed to reduce waste, avoid product excess, and simplify steps that typically depend on manual adjustments.

Electrolux UltimateCare 900 bets on smart 12 kg washing

Among the main attractions of the washer is IntelliQuick, a system that automatically selects the fastest program according to the load placed in the drum, without requiring the user to manually combine time, weight, and intensity.

According to Electrolux, this technology allows washing a full 12 kg load in 45 minutes, maintaining care for the items and avoiding unnecessary use of water or energy during the process.

Automatic dosing also plays a central role in the operation of the UltimateCare 900, as the IntelliDose system uses sensors to deliver the appropriate amount of detergent in each wash, reducing common errors in the household routine.

During the cycle, SensorWash checks if there is still dirt on the clothes and can add a second dose of product when necessary, making the process more adjusted to the actual state of the items.

According to internal testing reported by Electrolux, this feature can help reduce detergent usage by up to 60% on a 2 kg load when compared to manual dosing.

In practice, automation changes a frequent decision in home washing: determining how much soap to put in the machine without overdoing it, without leaving insufficient product, and without compromising the final result.

In conventional cycles, excess detergent can leave residues on clothes and require more rinsing, while a smaller amount than necessary tends to hinder dirt removal.

With load and dirt reading, the UltimateCare 900 starts to guide part of the washing process, reducing the reliance on trial and error adjustments in everyday use.

Automatic dosing and sensors reduce manual adjustments in washing

Even before the washing solution reaches the drum, the UltraMix technology dissolves and activates detergent and fabric softener, ensuring the products come into contact with the clothes already mixed with water.

Electrolux states that this system helps to avoid visible detergent residue at the end of the cycle, with a test conducted on a mixed load of 3 kg using the recommended dosage of powder detergent.

In the field of hygiene, the Sanitise program combines a washing and steam cycle above 60 °C, expanding the equipment’s focus on deep cleaning for frequently used clothes, towels, bed linens, and items in direct contact with the body.

The manufacturer claims that this mode removes more than 99.99% of common bacteria and viruses, as well as reducing pollen and allergens, with verification by Swissatest Testmaterialien AG cited by Electrolux in its official materials.

Another standout feature is VapourRefresh, developed to revitalize clothes without subjecting them to a full wash cycle, especially when the main need involves freshness and crease reduction.

According to the product’s official description, the program uses steam to refresh clothes and smooth out wrinkles in less than 30 minutes, with fewer wrinkles compared to air drying.

Sanitizing steam and UltraMix reinforce deep cleaning of clothes

On the user interface, the washer features SmartSelect, a resource that guides the choice of washing settings and provides feedback as the user adjusts intensity, cycle, duration, and temperature.

By adapting the selected parameters, the system aims to guide choices that can save time, water, and energy, keeping the wash aligned with the type of clothing and the need informed on the panel.

The technical sheet describes the controls with SmartSelect, an electronic rotary button, and touch-sensitive commands, creating a more visual navigation for those using different cycles throughout the week.

In connected features, Electrolux’s specification mentions Wi-Fi, connection indicator, app notification, and internal drum light, elements that bring the washing machine closer to other smart home appliances.

This integration makes monitoring the wash more practical when the appliance is in laundry rooms separate from the social area of the house or when the user needs to monitor the cycle remotely.

With 17 washing programs, the UltimateCare 900 caters to different types of clothes and usage situations, including cotton, duvet, wool, steam refresh, rinse and spin, 15-minute quick wash, eco cotton, and delicates.

The official list also includes sanitise, IntelliQuick, sports, baby care, easy iron, drum cleaning, towels, and jeans, expanding the options for bulky items, sensitive clothes, and items subjected to intense use.

App control and SmartSelect bring the laundry closer to the connected home

Fabric care is also featured in the wool program, described by Electrolux as suitable for machine-washable items and associated with the Woolmark Green certification.

In this mode, the aim is to offer a wash similar to manual care for delicate woolen clothes, maintaining movement, water volume, and speed within parameters designed to reduce damage during the process.

The technical set includes a stainless steel drum, a maximum spin speed of 1,400 rpm, and a front system with UltraMix and IntelliDose, reinforcing the proposal of automation applied to domestic washing.

In the efficiency rating provided for the Australian market, the product appears with a rating of 5 stars in energy, 4.5 stars in water, consumption of 103 liters, and an estimated annual consumption of 292 kWh in warm wash.

With a capacity of 12 kg, the equipment is positioned in a range aimed at larger families, homes with a high volume of clothes, or users who frequently wash bulky items.

By combining high load, quick cycle, sensors, steam, and automatic dosing, the UltimateCare 900 differentiates itself from traditional machines by reducing manual decisions that were once part of the washing routine.

The advancement shows how major manufacturers have started to compete in the connected laundry space, a segment where design, automation, hygiene, and resource savings have gained weight similar to capacity and power.

In Electrolux’s proposal, the machine not only washes clothes but interprets load, adjusts product, guides settings, and offers specific cycles for different domestic use needs.

Would you use a washing machine that calculates the amount of detergent by itself, adjusts the cycle, and still promises to wash 12 kg of clothes in 45 minutes?
