Recent Discovery Of A Mysterious Interstellar Object, The 3I Atlas, Raises Questions Among Scientists And Prompts Elon Musk Statements About Possible Artificial Origin. NASA And Other Space Agencies Remain Silent On The Case.

Elon Musk once again stirred the debate on extraterrestrial life by commenting on a mysterious celestial body recently discovered: the 3I Atlas, an interstellar object that, according to him, may not just be a comet.

The statements, made after weeks of silence from space agencies, reignited public and scientific interest in the phenomenon.

The information was originally presented in a video by the American channel Uncovered X, published on YouTube.

Interstellar Object Intrigues Scientists Since July

The 3I Atlas was detected in early July 2025 by astronomers linked to the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS), responsible for monitoring near-Earth bodies.

According to the Uncovered X video, the object’s trajectory indicated a speed of over 255,000 km/h, too high to be captured by the Sun’s gravity — a sign that it came from outside the Solar System.

The hyperbolic trajectory confirmed that it is the third interstellar object ever recorded, after ʻOumuamua, observed in 2017, and 2I/Borisov, identified in 2019.

Furthermore, according to the channel, the Atlas exhibits unprecedented properties that differentiate it from any known comet.

Unprecedented Behavior And Reaction Of The Scientific Community

According to Uncovered X, even scientists known for their skepticism expressed surprise.

Theoretical physicist Sabine Hossenfelder acknowledged that the Atlas has “an uncommon, unprecedented, and exceptional behavior.”

In statements reproduced in the video, Hossenfelder questioned how many anomalies would be necessary for science to officially consider a celestial body as “strange.”

According to her, the Atlas exceeds all known standards of comets, surpassing even ʻOumuamua in uncertainties.

This admission is significant because the researcher typically refutes hypotheses about alien technology — which reinforces the weight of her observation.

Chemical Composition And Reversed Jet Increase The Mystery

Among the most unusual characteristics of the Atlas, Uncovered X highlights the direction of its jet, which instead of being projected away from the Sun, is launched toward the star, a phenomenon dubbed anticola.

As reported in the video, the jet releases nickel tetracarbonyl with no traces of iron, something never seen in natural comets.

This detail is particularly intriguing because, according to the narrator, this compound is only produced by industrial means on Earth, which raised the hypothesis of artificial origin.

Additionally, the Atlas releases water vapor at a rate of 40 kilograms per second, even while nearly three astronomical units from the Sun, a distance at which common comets are inactive.

Its coma contains high concentrations of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, the latter too fragile to survive a long interstellar journey — another element that doesn’t fit traditional explanations.

Color Changes And Route Challenge Scientific Patterns

The video also reported that the 3I Atlas changed color between July and September 2025: from reddish to a bright greenish glow.

The alteration, according to scientists cited by the channel, would be associated with an increase in the emission of cyanide and atomic carbon — a behavior considered atypical.

Another point mentioned by Uncovered X is the periodic variation of the Atlas’s route.

Astronomers reportedly noticed small changes every four hours, similar to maneuvers performed by artificial probes to correct their trajectory.

This finding led some researchers to speculate whether the object might be under some type of control.

Elon Musk Criticizes NASA’s Silence

According to Uncovered X, Elon Musk reportedly commented after noticing what he called “abnormal silence” from NASA and other space agencies.

The billionaire stated that “the 3I Atlas is definitely not a common comet,” citing the same anomalies described in the video: reversed jet, acceleration outside of standards, and rapidly expanding tail.

Musk also questioned the lack of transparency from space authorities, stating that “if it were just a comet, high-resolution images would have already been released.”

According to him, the fact that NASA reported “technical issues” in its systems precisely during the period of the object’s greatest visibility would indicate an attempt to conceal information.

Amateur Researchers Release New Images

While agencies maintain secrecy, amateur astronomers continue to monitor the Atlas.

According to the video from Uncovered X, the channel Dobsonian Power released recent records showing the object as a circular structure with no visible tail, resembling ships depicted in science fiction works.

The images, according to the channel, were also captured by twin telescopes in independent observatories, fueling new speculation about its nature.

International Community Triggers Alert Network

The American channel also reported that the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and the European Space Agency (ESA), in partnership with the UN, activated a global observation system to monitor the 3I Atlas between November 2025 and January 2026.

This decision would be an unprecedented measure, motivated both by the anomalies and by the interest in assessing possible risks.

According to Uncovered X, rumors began circulating about a supposed confidential NASA project called Shield 3, which would aim to intercept high-speed interstellar objects.

However, no official agency has confirmed the existence of this program.

Possible Risk And Conflicting Theories

With about 17 kilometers in length, the Atlas would have dimensions greater than the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs, according to the video.

Although the risk of collision with Earth is considered minimal, the hypothesis has fueled conspiracy theories and discussions about planetary security.

According to astrophysicist Avi Loeb, head of the Department of Astronomy at Harvard and director of the Galileo Project, the probability of a random body following the same path as the Atlas is one in 20,000.

Loeb argues that this could indicate some type of intelligent control.

In contrast, much of the scientific community prefers a more cautious interpretation.

Experts state that the chemical and orbital differences may simply reflect distinct physical conditions in other regions of space, without implying technological origin.

Mystery Continues And Divides Opinions

For Uncovered X, the 3I Atlas remains the most mysterious object ever observed since ʻOumuamua.

The channel concludes that, while Elon Musk and Avi Loeb advocate for the possibility that the body has artificial origin, there is no conclusive scientific evidence so far.

On the other hand, other researchers see the Atlas as an opportunity to expand knowledge about the diversity of materials and behaviors possible outside the Solar System.

After all, is the 3I Atlas just an unusual comet — or a hint that we are not alone in the universe?
