Saudi Arabia and Qatar signed the agreement to connect Riyadh to Doha with a high-speed train traveling at 300 kilometers per hour, covering 785 kilometers of desert in about two hours.
Integrating the motor into the wheel of electric cars also reduces the complexity of the drivetrain, allowing for a decrease in the number of necessary parts, which in turn reduces the total weight of the assembly.
Saietta Group’s CEO, Wicher Kist, states that the company does not intend to become a platform manufacturer, but rather work with creators of platforms to complement rather than compete with their innovations.
Motor Installed in the Wheel Has Been Tested and Proven in a Renault Electric Car
To assess the effectiveness of the wheel motors, Saietta tested the technology in a Renault Twizy. The test was conducted in Amsterdam, pitting two Twizy models against each other. One had the AFT 140 motor, while the other did not, and nothing else was changed. The vehicles drove indefinitely through a range of diverse traffic, temperature, climate, and even various road surfaces, just to evaluate whether the motor is efficient or not.
The tests were supervised by New Electric and concluded that the AFT 140 brings an extended range of 10%. Kist stated that the company is pleased that independent tests have demonstrated the technical capability of the electric motor, proving its improvement for electric cars.
To ensure the tests were conducted cleanly, each vehicle was equipped with a laptop that processed all performance data for New Electric. The reason for using the Twizy for the tests is that it is a perfect transition vehicle with which Saietta can measure how much impact its new electric motor can withstand.
