New Electric Motorcycle Factory Arrives in Manaus with the Goal of Strengthening the Market. Company Already Offers Cheap Electric Motorcycle for Just R$ 9 Thousand.
For those looking for a way to get rid of combustion motorcycles, electric motorcycles have become an increasingly present option in the Brazilian market, as seen with models from brands like Shineray and Voltz, for example. The fact is that, observing this movement, Boram, a company founded in 2021 and with a stronger presence in the Northern region of Brazil, will expand its market with a new factory in Manaus (AM), stores, and launches throughout the country.
New Electric Motorcycle Factory Receives Investments of R$ 3.6 Million
According to Thiago Freire, CEO of the company, in an interview, previously electric motorcycles arrived in the country in an SKD format, that is, semi-assembled. Now, the models will arrive in the country in a CKD format, meaning disassembled, to be assembled on the production line in the Industrial Hub of Manaus.
Production will begin in July. The total investment in the new factory was R$ 3.6 million, and initially, its production capacity will be 2,500 units per month. Boram has several suppliers, with 30% of them being national.

Hyundai has unveiled the Boulder, a square SUV with a body-on-frame design, 37-inch mud tires, and carriage-style doors that seems to be made to take on the Ford Bronco and the Scout Traveller in the United States.
The executive’s idea now is to start expanding the new electric motorcycle factory with a distribution center in Valinhos (SP), along with the opening of a flagship store in São Paulo. Following that, the company plans to expand to other states in the Southeast and Northeast. Year after year, the company plans to expand to four states. According to Thiago, the flagships will serve as main stores, supporting all authorized dealers.
New Electric Motorcycle Factory Already Has Low-Cost Model
Currently, Boram’s portfolio includes 5 electric motorcycles, consisting of options such as scooters, choppers, and streets, with prices ranging from R$ 14,750 to R$ 19,990, with a range of 50 to 80 km and maximum speeds of 65 to 85 km/h. It is noteworthy that all models require a National Driver’s License.
Before the end of this year, the company plans to launch a cheap electric motorcycle with a range of 100 km that can reach a maximum speed of up to 110 km/h. In addition, low-cost options are scheduled, around R$ 9 thousand, for the so-called Boram Light, with a range of 30 km and a maximum speed of 45 km/h, as well as an electric bicycle.
The opening of the new factory in Manaus marks a new moment for the business in pursuit of expansion in the country. With local assembly and the use of some components purchased from national suppliers, the operation will have a significant reduction in certain taxes. Currently, if they want to sell to other states like São Paulo, the company in Manaus must pay about 30 to 40% in taxes. Thiago emphasizes that it is not possible to pass this number onto the end customer.
Boram Sold Over 1,000 Electric Motorcycles
The venture was established in 2019 in Manaus by brothers and entrepreneurs Thiago and Hélio Freire as importers. Among the products brought from China, from where they imported various products such as appliances, construction equipment, and solar panels for the national market through their trade company, Freire Import, Thiago found a great business potential in electric motorcycles amidst a global shift toward sustainable mobility solutions.
Over the past few years, the brothers have sold over 1,200 vehicles in three states in the Northern region, namely Amazonas, Rondônia, and Roraima, where they have 9 stores, both conceptual and conventional. Last year, the company generated R$ 13 million in revenue by offering the 5 models from its portfolio.
