Geely, the Company That Owns Volvo, Recently Launched the Panda Knight, Which Now, in Its Orange Color, Resembles the Ford Bronco, a Classic from the American Brand.
Launched in September last year, the Geely Panda Knight, developed by the company that owns Volvo, went unnoticed by the media until recently. However, it only took the Chinese manufacturer, which owns Volvo, to reveal the mini electric SUV in an orange color with black details for it to become clear that the model is a smaller, similar version of the Ford Bronco.
Geely’s Ford Bronco Clone Costs Only R$ 36 Thousand (in Direct Conversion)
Just look at the small electric car from the owner of Volvo and the Ford Bronco, and we can affirm that all the basic elements of the American model are there. The Chinese model from Geely features two handles on the hood that emulate the front mounts that the Ford SUV has. Additionally, the design of the front grille, headlights, and even the bumper hooks are similar.
At the rear, the style deviates slightly from the Bronco as it does not have a spare tire hanging on the trunk lid. Some versions may have a ladder on the side, leaning towards a look of a Land Rover Defender. The cabin of the Ford Bronco clone appears to be tight, even causing the multimedia center not to be centered on the dashboard.

It measures only 3.13 meters in length, 1.56 meters in width, and 1.65 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.01 meters. This makes it 43 cm shorter than a Fiat Mobi, 9 cm narrower, and 1 cm lower. Additionally, the wheelbase is 30 cm shorter.
Geely’s New Electric Car Delivers Up to 200 km of Range
Like its inspiration, the Geely Panda Knight features rear-wheel drive. However, while the Ford SUV is powered by gasoline engines, the small utility from the owner of Volvo has a small electric motor with 40 horsepower and 11.3 kgfm of torque. The range reaches 200 km, with a charging time from 30% to 80% taking only half an hour.
Inside, the Ford Bronco clone follows the Panda standard, featuring an 8-inch multimedia center, an elongated 9.2-inch digital instrument panel, and a new color combination inspired by nature. Despite being compact, it can offer up to 800 liters of trunk space with the rear seats folded down.
The Small Electric Vehicle Market Is Growing
Beyond this small electric from Geely, the Ford Bronco clone, there are several other small models gaining traction in the market. The popularization of electric cars is becoming an increasingly growing reality, and during the CES 2024, the Vietnamese automaker VinFast showcased its new products and emphasized its plans to globally launch its electric SUV known as the VinFast VF3.
According to press reports, the electric SUV will have a starting price of 300 million Vietnamese dong, equivalent to R$ 60 thousand in a direct conversion. In the US, prices are expected to start at US$ 20 thousand, dropping to an effective US$ 12,500 after the federal subsidy of US$ 7,500.
The VinFast held two meetings with potential US dealers in October and presented a full-scale prototype of the VinFast VF3. According to the automaker, it was created for young drivers and can reach a top speed of 100 km/h. The specifications for the motor, battery, and power have not yet been disclosed; however, VinFast claims it delivers a range of 285 km on a single charge under the Chinese cycle and 237 km under the WLTP standard.
