Two Dutch companies, Van Oord and Shell, have joined forces in a strategic partnership to develop decommissioning technology for wind farms

The collaboration between Van Oord and Shell aims to create a positive impact in the renewable energy sector, seeking to contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions and promote the global energy transition.

The business plan will be based on certain constraints, working together to ensure that all offshore and onshore work can be carried out safely, efficiently, and economically viable. The ultimate goal is to provide the best value to the asset owner. It is essential for the Dutch Companies to ensure that all operations are conducted effectively, with safety as a priority.

Dutch Firms

Although it may take a few years before a substantial number of wind farms are decommissioned, Ballast Nedam and Sif, both Dutch Firms, believe they need to prepare for this anticipated market. The decommissioning of wind farms is an essential part of offshore operations, and the Dutch Firms are focused on ensuring that this process is conducted efficiently and sustainably.

Additionally, the reuse of steel from decommissioned wind farms is an important step toward a sustainable and circular future, converting old monopiles into green steel plates for new monopiles in offshore wind energy. The Dutch Companies are committed to sustainable practices and the pursuit of a greener future.

Dutch Firms

The sustainable future is a priority for the Dutch Firms, which are constantly seeking innovative ways to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. Through strategic partnerships and joint ventures, the Dutch Firms, such as BNS Decom, are leading the way in material reuse and creating a more sustainable future for the renewable energy sector.
