The Oil Company Enauta Reported That, After Both Wells Experienced Pumping System Failures, Production in One of Them Resumed in the Santos Basin

Enauta informed in a relevant fact, last Tuesday, that one of the two producing wells in the Atlanta Field, in the Santos Basin, which experienced a pumping system failure earlier this month has resumed operations, meaning that the asset now has two wells again. According to the company, production has “quickly” returned to a level equivalent to that observed before the interruption, amounting to around 17,000 to 18,000 barrels per day. The Resumption of Production by Enauta

“The Early Production System of the Atlanta Field has three producing wells, designed to operate with pumps inside the wells or with pumps located on the seabed,” Enauta detailed in a statement. The company emphasizes that with the failure of the pump inside the well, the seabed pump of one of the wells was activated on July 18, 2021.

The company stated that the seabed pump of the other well that had been shut down has also been activated and, with this, all three wells are now operational. The return of production with three wells is scheduled for August 2021, when repairs to the oil heaters on the platform are expected to be completed, added Enauta, which is the operator of Atlanta with a 100% stake.

The Interruption of Oil Production in the Atlanta Field, in the Santos Basin

On the night of July 5, the oil company Enauta informed in a market statement that it had interrupted production in two of the three wells of the Atlanta Field, in the Santos Basin, while a failure in the pumping system of both was also discovered.

In a relevant fact published, Enauta communicated that one of the wells in the Atlanta Field is expected to resume production in the second half of this month, and the second is projected to return in August. The oil company also states in its communication that, for now, no material change is expected in the production interval previously disclosed by Enauta.

In the statement, the company also mentioned that in June, the Atlanta Field achieved its highest production volume of the year, with 17.3 thousand barrels of oil per day. Production in the second quarter of the year was 16.7 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, a growth of 42.7% compared to the previous quarter. The average daily production accumulated in 2021 reached 14.1 thousand barrels of oil equivalent.

The oil company Enauta informed in a relevant fact that it has signed the concession contracts for the oil and gas blocks acquired in the 2nd Cycle of the Permanent Offering of the ANP, held on December 4, 2020. The Company acquired a 30% stake in four onshore blocks PAR-T-86, PAR-T-99, PAR-T-196, and PAR-T-215, in the Paraná Basin, in partnership with Eneva.

The acquisition of these four onshore oil blocks marks Enauta’s entry into the Paraná Basin, considered a frontier area due to the low number of exploratory activities already conducted in the region, allowing the oil company to be well-positioned to capture new business opportunities. “Enauta seized this opportunity to diversify its asset base,” the company stated.

According to the statement, Enauta anticipates an investment of around R$ 15 million in exploratory activities. The onshore oil blocks are located in the states of Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás, covering approximately 11,544 km2, an area larger than that of the entire traditional Recôncavo Basin in Bahia.
