The Natural Gas Exploration by Eneva in the Amazon Basin Is Growing and the Company Announced That Its Fuel Reserves in the Area Have Doubled Since the End of 2021, Focusing on the Azulão Field Among the Production Sites

According to an announcement made during last Monday, (05/16), by the company, Eneva’s reserves in the Amazon Basin have doubled since the end of 2021. The company has been heavily investing in the exploration of natural gas in the region and achieved this result due to productivity efficiency, especially in the Azulão Field, one of the most important in the area for the company’s numbers.

Eneva’s Natural Gas Reserves Doubled Since 2021 in the Amazon Basin and the Azulão Field Is the Company’s Main Source in the Region

Eneva is one of the largest integrated energy companies engaged in the exploration and production of natural gas and in providing energy solutions, and in recent years, it has been heavily focusing on the production and exploration of natural gas in Brazil. Now, the company announced that it has doubled its fuel reserves in the Amazon Basin since the end of 2021, a result that surprised the company’s management due to the speed of resource accumulation.

Thus, the company released a report detailing the results, and according to Eneva, the natural gas reserves in the region increased from 7.109 billion cubic meters (Bm³) to 14.8 Bm³ in four months. The report was prepared by the company Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) and highlights the Azulão Field in production, along with exploratory blocks AM-T-84 and AM-T-85, included in the Plan for Discovery Evaluation (PAD) Anebá.

All these areas for natural gas exploration are located within the Amazon Basin, which has a massive reserve of fuels and is currently one of the main production hubs for the resources. Additionally, for the first time, oil reserves in the region were certified, and Eneva announced that it has 4.7 million barrels in reserves. In this way, the company continues to expand its presence in the oil and gas industry and is seeking new directions for even greater growth.

The Company’s Natural Gas Reserves in the Azulão Field, in the Amazon Basin, Will Supply a Significant Portion of Energy to Roraima

The report from Eneva regarding the natural gas reserves in the region confirms the presence of 10.5 Bm³ of 1P gas reserves; 14.8 Bm³ of 2P gas reserves; and 18.7 Bm³ of 3P gas reserves. Furthermore, the company also disclosed the results regarding condensate reserves, which were 3.3 million barrels (1P); 4.7 million barrels (2P), and 5.9 million barrels (3P) during these four months of analysis.

All this natural gas produced in the Azulão Field, in the Amazon Basin, will be directed to the Jaguatirica thermal power plant and will supply a significant portion of energy in the state of Roraima. Thus, the Operations Director, Lino Cançado, stated: “We have incorporated significant volumes to the 2P reserves, which have more than doubled. This result reflects new information acquired, which more than confirms our enthusiasm for the potential of the Azulão Field and the Amazon Basin as a whole.”

Finally, Eneva emphasized that it will continue its efforts and investments in research to find new reserves in the Azulão Field and throughout the Amazon Basin to expand its natural gas production over the next few years.
