Engeman signs new seamanship contract on Petrobras platforms and consolidates presence in this sector, in the Santos Basin
The Pernambuco company Engeman, specialized in marine services for oil and gas platforms, has gained space in the national market. Recently, the company closed a third contract with Petrobrás to provide services on platforms in the Santos Basin (P-66, P-67, P-68, P-69 and P-70), consolidating its presence in this strategic sector, according to the website Petronotícias.
Gledson Braga, gerente of Engeman's operations, reveals the company's plans for the future, in the Santos Basin. The idea is to expand its operations in the seamanship market for customers throughout Brazil throughout 2024. In addition, Engeman is structuring the implementation of a Technical Qualification Center to train new professionals and meet growing operational demand in the Saints.
Engeman's current and future contracts with Petrobras, in the Santos Basin
Engeman has current contracts involving marine services in different Petrobras units, including FPSO P-70 in the Campos Basin (private market) and in the Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte Basins. For 2024, 3 new contracts with Petrobras are in the process of being mobilized, with a duration of 4 years and the possibility of extension.
Challenges with these contracts include unifying the scope and recruiting workers with the EXPERIENCE required by Petrobras. The company has invested in internal restructuring, including team, processes and Integrated Management System (SGI), to meet this demand and ensure the safety of operations. The company now intends to invest in the Santos Basin.
Importance of seamanship for oil and gas platforms
Seamanship services are essential to guarantee the safe execution of Petrobras' offshore activities, including preserving the health and safety of the team and the environment. Without these services, the units' activities may be interrupted, impacting the entire operation.
To fulfill contracts of this size, Engeman is structuring a Technical Qualification Center and evaluating the installation of a new operational base in Macaé or Rio das Ostras, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. These initiatives aim to ensure the continuous training of the team and the expansion of the company's operations in the seamanship market and also in the Santos Basin.
