Images show vehicles “floating” on Avenida Beira-Rio, near Ponte da Bandeira, during the storm that hit Ubá, in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais. The occurrence was confirmed by the City Hall of the city.

According to the Fire Department, early in the morning, in downtown Ubá, on Avenida Cristiano Rocas, a building was at risk of being hit. Around 6:30 AM, there were suspicions of residents inside the residence.
On Rua Dona Maria, also in the central region, the water level rose rapidly, leaving people stranded. Employees and elderly individuals needed to be rescued. Another report indicated a gas leak.

According to Mayor Margarida Salomão, the volume caused flooding, serious situations, and burials that continue to increase. Around 20 burials have been recorded, especially in the southeastern part of the city, amidst the emergency scenario.
