Inmetro Updates Labeling List and Standardizes Information on Electric Car Range in Brazil
The National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro) updated its vehicle labeling list, revealing the electric cars with the greatest range in Brazil. Since last year, a new standard has been adopted to calculate this number, applying a 30% reduction on the values obtained in homologation tests, according to the SAE J1634 standard, according to the website Insideevs.
This adjustment aims to standardize the information on the range of electric vehicles sold in the country, since previously, manufacturers used data from international cycles such as the U.S. EPA, WLTP, NEDC, and CLTC (Chinese cycle). Now, all manufacturers participating in the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program must disclose the data homologated according to this new table.
