According to Map of Industrial Work, prepared by the National Industry Observatory (ONI) of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), The Bahian industrial sector will need to train 574 thousand professionals between 2025 and 2027.
Of this total, 97 thousand will need to receive initial training to meet economic expansion and fill market gaps.
Meanwhile, 477 already employed workers will need to update their skills to keep up with rapid technological transformations and new production processes.
Logistics: one of the pillars of the transforming industry
Among the sectors that will demand the most qualifications is logistics.
This area goes far beyond the transportation of goods, encompassing activities such as storage, distribution, route planning and technology management.
As Bruno Almeida, a supply chain management specialist, explains, logistics is essential for the success of any production chain.
“Today, without efficient logistics, products do not reach the end consumer, and companies lose competitiveness”, highlights Almeida.
The growth of e-commerce has also driven the demand for skilled professionals in the sector, requiring agile deliveries and modern processes.
Additionally, we bring Technological advances and investments in infrastructure have transformed logistics into one of the most strategic segments of the economy.
Tools such as supply chain management (SCM) and inventory management (EMS) systems are increasingly indispensable for optimizing resources and reducing costs.
Technical education as an emergency solution to the lack of labor
To face these challenges, the Senai Bahia has played a crucial role.
The institution has opened registration for the technical course in logistics, with 447 vacancies distributed between units in Salvador, Camaçari, Feira de Santana, Lauro de Freitas and Alagoinhas.
Among these vacancies, 55 will be free scholarships for low-income students who have obtained at least 500 points in ENEM between 2019 and 2023.
Registration, which is free, can be completed until December 19, 2024, on the website tecnicosenai.com.br or in person at Senai units.
For those who do not meet the free criteria, the institution offers 40% discount on the first monthly payment for in-person and blended learning modalities.
According to Antonio Carlos Barbosa Bacelar, master in Systems Engineering and professor at Senai, This technical training is a gateway to promising and strategic careers in the market.
Technical skills in high demand
The market is not just looking for basic training. Technical skills are an indispensable differentiator, especially in the logistics sector. Bacelar highlights some skills that have gained prominence:
- Mastery of inventory management and supply chain systems.
- Route planning and use of optimization tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards and legislation.
- Ability to analyze data and use business intelligence tools.
“With globalization and the emphasis on operational efficiency, companies have begun to prioritize logistics as a key part of their operations,” says Bacelar.
Technological evolution requires professionals to follow trends and stay up to date to stand out in the market..
Constant updating: an essential requirement
For workers already in the market, continuous updating is essential to maintain employability.
Participating in events, seeking certifications and following trends are some strategies that help to broaden your professional horizons.
Bruno Sant'ana, lawyer and specialist in technology applied to law, warns about the speed of technological changes.
“Every year, new tools emerge, and those that don’t adapt quickly become outdated,” he points out..
This lack of labor reinforces the need for continuous learning integrated with new market demands.
The future of industry in Bahia
Without strong actions to qualify and requalify its workforce, Bahia runs the risk of compromising its industrial competitiveness.
The modernization and expansion of sectors directly depend on workers capable of dealing with advanced technologies and innovative processes..
The scenario presents challenges, but also opportunities. The industrial sector, especially areas such as logistics, can become even more strategic with the right training.
What remains to be known is: Will Bahia be able to transform this challenge of lack of labor into an opportunity for sustainable growth?
Interesting, I graduated as an artificial intelligence technician and I didn't even have the opportunity to do an internship in Pernambuco. Maybe if I had taken a course at Senai it would have been easier to get a job, as my state offers many technical courses, but we couldn't get into the job market. Unfortunately, unused knowledge discourages studying.
How about, Undertaking?
I agree with you, they talk so much about the technology hub and the degrees but they don't give us opportunities, I graduated in Digital Security and worked as a chat attendant, the company I work for doesn't give me the opportunity to work in my area lol unfortunately
Well, let's improve the salary that already fills these vacancies, why aren't people more interested in learning jobs in this area? Precisely because the salary does not keep up with the infraction, then many end up working on their own, others with MEI, and thus both the civil and industrial areas lose their future professionals, I will give an example: if in the world children stopped being born, at the age of 50, what would the world be like? Therefore, it is good to look more closely at the future for this side that can be the future of each Brazilian state.
Public schools should start quantifying students' performance in learning languages, arithmetic, gymnastics, music, and computer science, and send the most capable students to technical schools. In the recent past, it worked (for me)!
