A new opportunity to join the Volunteer Military Service of the Brazilian Army in 2025. The Armed Forces published a call notice on March 18 aimed at positions in the Army without written exams for Brazilians with higher education to enter the position of Officer as 1st Lieutenant in the Chaplain role. The selection process for temporary officers is intended for the 5th Military Region, which includes the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina.

It is worth mentioning that the Volunteer Military Service has a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of eight years. To apply for the selection process for Temporary Officers, candidates must be between 19 and 40 years of age.
The interested parties must also be native-born Brazilian males, be volunteers, and be up to date with their military obligations and electoral duties.

It is also essential to have successfully completed the Presbyteral Ordination in the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology recognized by the Ecclesiastical Authority by the date of incorporation, and to have expressed consent from the Ecclesiastical Authority of the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church.
The positions in the Army without exams also require at least 3 years of pastoral activities as a priest, related to the role of Roman Catholic Apostolic Chaplain. At the date of incorporation, the candidate should not have more than 60 months of service time rendered to the Armed Forces.
In the last 5 years, the candidate must not have been convicted in a criminal case before common or military justice, either in the federal or state sphere, with a final judgment, counting the time from the date of serving the sentence, among other stipulations.

Registration for positions as Temporary Officers is free and must be done solely through the Online Registration System of the 5th RM from 11 AM on March 19, 2025, to 11 AM on April 11, 2025.
The online registration is divided into personal data filling; indicating the Selection Process, Area of Interest, choosing the Preferred Military Garrison, and entering the curriculum data. The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Curriculum Analysis: classificatory character;
- Document Presentation and Title Verification;
- Interview;
- Health Inspection;
- Physical Aptitude Examination (EAF);
- Additional Health Inspection at the destination Military Organization.
