UFMG Launches Announcement for Free and Fully Online Course
According to Announcement No. 2734/2024, published on December 6, 2024, the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in partnership with the Open University of Brazil (UAB), has made available 5,000 spots for the extension course in Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education.
This training program, which will be conducted 100% online, promises to transform the teaching approach in regular classrooms and Specialized Educational Service (AEE).
The course lasts three months and has a workload of 120 hours, divided into four carefully planned modules.
Classes are expected to start in March 2025.
According to UFMG, priority for enrollment will be given to teachers and managers of basic education in the public network, but professionals from the private network may also apply.
Who Can Participate?
Teachers and managers of basic education from the state public network who work in regular classrooms or in Specialized Educational Service (AEE) spaces may register.
However, according to the announcement, the opportunity is also exceptionally open to teachers and managers from the private sector or basic education professionals who, for any reason, are not currently in the classroom.
How Will Selection Be Made?
According to the announcement, the selection criterion is simple and straightforward: the chronological order of registrations. That is, those who register earlier will have a better chance of securing a spot.
This approach ensures transparency and equal opportunities, avoiding more complex selection processes.
The registration period is from December 16, 2024, to January 17, 2025. Interested parties must access the electronic form available on the official UFMG website.
It is important to fill in all fields correctly, as it will not be possible to edit information after submission.
Selection Process Timeline
According to the schedule published, the preliminary result will be announced on January 31, 2025. Candidates who disagree with the result may submit appeals until February 7.
The final result will be announced on February 10, and those approved will receive an email with instructions for the start of activities in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) of CAPES.
Course Objectives
The main objective of the course is to train educators to develop inclusive pedagogical practices, ensuring that students with special educational needs have access to quality education.
According to specialists in the field, this training is essential for promoting a more equitable education and meeting the current demands of classrooms, especially in times of increasing diversity in school contexts.
With modules that include topics such as inclusive pedagogical strategies, educational legislation, and management of AEE classrooms, the course offers robust training aligned with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education.
Why This Opportunity Is Unmissable?
Besides being completely free, the course offers flexibility for participants to study from anywhere, as long as they have internet access.
For many educators, this is a rare chance to obtain quality qualification at no cost, which can open doors to new opportunities in the job market.
UFMG emphasizes that the course is aligned with the National Special Education Plan and the National Policy for Inclusive Education, expanding the impact of training beyond the classroom, helping to build a more inclusive society.
Transform Your Career and Be Part of the Change
This initiative from UFMG could be the opportunity you were waiting for to transform your professional journey and contribute to a more inclusive education.
Don’t wait until later and secure your spot as soon as possible.
