According to information, the differentiating factor of this course, titled “Health and Well-Being: Comprehensive Care for Mental Health”, is the adoption of innovative methodologies based on Integrative and Complementary Health Practices (PICS).
These practices, which are essential for promoting a more humanized and comprehensive approach to health, aim not only to improve care but also to ensure the well-being of the professionals themselves involved at the forefront of SUS.
Training for a New Approach to Mental Health Care
The goal of the course is to train professionals to apply more integrated and personalized care to the mental health of users.
According to specialists in the field, strengthening PICS in Primary Health Care is essential to promote a more efficient and humanized health system.
With a workload of 120 hours – comprising 96 hours online and 24 hours in-person – the course will be conducted over six months.
The distribution of the workload will be flexible, averaging six hours of study per week.
The adopted methodology will allow students to integrate theory and practice, with a special focus on self-care as a starting point for caring for others.
Training Professionals with a Focus on the Territory
Throughout the course, students will be challenged to understand the demands of each territory in which they operate, adapting their learning to the local reality.
Three in-person meetings will be held in the 10 Health Regions of Alagoas, where students will have the opportunity to discuss the main issues impacting mental health in the different regions.
The first stage of the course will be marked by an in-person meeting that will serve to present the course proposal to students, provide educational materials, and guide them on using the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA).
During this phase, study plans will also be formulated, based on the needs of each territory and the specificities of each student.
