Cederj 2026.1 Entrance Exam Offers Thousands of Free Spots in Semi-Presential Undergraduate Courses in Rio de Janeiro, with Teaching Material and Internet Access Included. Exams Will Take Place in December and Registrations are Open Until November.
The Cecierj Foundation is accepting registrations for the Cederj 2026.1 Entrance Exam, which offers 7,355 free spots in semi-presential undergraduate courses, distributed across support centers in various regions of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The selective process is coordinated by the State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation and will have a test applied on December 7, 2025.
The registration fee is R$ 89.90.

Available Courses and Class Format
The spots include courses in Administration, Public Administration, Library Science, Biological Sciences, Accounting, Production Engineering, Physics, Geography, History, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Pedagogy, Chemistry, Computer Systems, Tourism Management, and Public Security.
The courses are offered by public universities that are part of the Cederj Consortium, with diplomas issued by the partner institutions.
The format is semi-presential, combining online activities and mandatory meetings at regional centers, in addition to in-person and virtual tutoring.
All teaching material is free and produced specifically for distance learning.
According to the Cecierj Foundation, the virtual learning environment includes video lessons, forums, and evaluation systems, with technical and pedagogical support throughout the course.
Specific Spots in Rio das Ostras
In the municipality of Rio das Ostras, there are 25 spots available for the Technology in Tourism Management course and 30 spots for Library Science.
The local center operates in partnership with the City Hall and integrates the support network of the Cederj Consortium, which operates in various municipalities in the state.
Registrations and Deadlines
Registrations are open from September 22 to November 9, 2025, exclusively online.
Applicants can request wavier of the registration fee and participate in the quota system, according to the criteria established in the notice.
Cecierj reported that the registration period has been extended until November 9 to accommodate high demand.
Even with the free courses, payment of the fee is mandatory to validate the registration, except in cases of waivers granted during the stipulated period.
Exam and Evaluation Criteria
The exam is scheduled for December 7, 2025, to be held at regional centers in the state.
According to the notice, the exam will consist of objective questions and an essay, covering high school content, as well as a foreign language test (English or Spanish).
The notice also provides guidance on the issuance of the Confirmation of Registration Card, which indicates the exam location and time, and regarding the deadlines for the announcement of results.

Student Support: Connectivity and Teaching Material
Students approved in the entrance exam will have free internet access through mobile phone chips provided by the Cecierj Foundation.
The benefit includes 3G/4G or higher connection, national coverage, unlimited local and long-distance calls, 30 daily text messages, and an academic usage application compatible with Android and iOS.
According to the foundation, the initiative aims to increase access to study platforms and reduce technological barriers faced by public school students.
In addition to the chip, the program provides printed and digital teaching materials, with content developed by faculty from partner universities, as well as in-person and virtual support at dozens of service centers throughout the state.
Structure and Coordination of the Cederj Consortium
The Cederj Consortium is made up of public universities based in Rio de Janeiro, responsible for developing the courses and certifying graduates.
The Cecierj Foundation coordinates the execution of the entrance exam and the pedagogical management of the distance learning system.
According to official information, the consortium currently maintains 43 active regional centers, with support infrastructure for practical classes, evaluations, and tutoring.
