The Island Was Born From The Excavation Of A Dam Around Preserved Palm Trees To Avoid Environmental Degradation, Turning A Flooded Area Into A Leisure Refuge Valued At 150,000 Reais
In São Miguel do Guaporé, Camila Honorório’s family invested up to 150,000 reais to create a sustainable artificial island, aiming to preserve the local nature and ensure private leisure, attracting national attention on social media recently with its lush scenery.
Private Island In The Backyard: Private Refuge In Rondônia
The idea of building the space initially arose for family fun in a pond of bluish waters in the backyard.
The project took shape when Camila’s parents decided to keep native palm trees in an area that was already flooded.

In a boat just 1.19 meters long, smaller than many kayaks, Briton Andrew Bedwell wants to cross nearly 3,000 kilometers of the North Atlantic alone and spend more than two months without being able to lie down or stand up, all to break a record and honor cancer victims.

While most dealerships in Brazil take days to deliver cars, in Germany two 48-meter glass towers hold 800 vehicles and release each model via automatic elevators in a few seconds.

In Japan, a 40 by 60-meter concrete museum without pillars rises like a floating drop, allowing wind, light, and rain inside the space and surprising architects and engineers with the delicacy of the structure.

While traditional constructions rely on tons of concrete to support weight, in England an abandoned site was converted into transparent hexagonal domes, combining lightweight engineering and mine repurposing, transforming the landscape and local tourism.
To avoid environmental degradation, the solution found was to excavate around the trees, thus creating the island.
As Camila explained to g1, the main intention of the project has always been respect and total surrender to nature.

Repercussions On Social Media
Videos showing the routine in the private paradise went viral on the internet, sparking the curiosity of thousands of internet users across the country.
Even with the digital success, the family prefers to keep the place reserved only for gatherings and lunches on Sundays.
Neighbors and close friends also frequent the space to cool off on hot days in the São Miguel do Guaporé region.
The young woman reported to g1 that the family enjoys the environment for leisure and relaxation moments in their backyard.
Construction Details
The execution of the work took two days of labor with a PC machine hired from a specialized company in the region.
After excavating the dam, landscaping and shaping were done manually by Camila’s parents and other family members.
The process of structuring the site took more than a year and is still ongoing according to the family’s plans.
Investments And Future Plans For The Private Island
The amount invested in transforming the land varied between 100,000 and 150,000 reais over the entire work period.
Since the project was not planned from the beginning, expenses occurred as adaptations to the flooded land were needed.
The family is now studying the possibility of turning the island into a guesthouse to welcome visitors interested in the local scenery.
Currently, they are putting the new commercial project on paper due to the great interest shown by residents of the Rondônia region.

Gostei muito. Ficou lindo.
