The New Fiat Argo Endurance Arrives to Shake Up the Popular Car Market. As a Strong Rival to the VW Polo, Fiat’s Popular Model Stands Out for Bringing New Differentials That Promise to Conquer Consumers.
For those who thought that the VW Polo Robust would reign without competitors, Fiat has just changed the game with the launch of the new version of the Argo. Named Endurance, this popular car is a hatch aimed at work and sold exclusively through direct sales. The Fiat Argo Endurance presents itself as a more affordable option, inspired by the Trekking, but with fewer accessories and features. With this strategy, Fiat managed to offer the model at competitive prices ranging from R$ 95,990 to R$ 89,990.
Differentials of the New Fiat Argo in the Popular Car Market
The new version of Fiat’s popular car uses a 1.3 aspirated Firefly engine with 107 horsepower, 13.7 kgfm of torque, and features a five-speed manual transmission. In terms of horsepower, the affordable car positions itself ahead of the Polo Robust, which is available only with a 1.0 MPI aspirated engine. Like its rival VW, the model is taller, another feature borrowed from the Trekking version: the suspension.
Fiat’s affordable car has received a higher suspension, with a 20.5° approach angle and a 33° departure angle, a ground clearance of 186 mm, a sump guard, and mixed-use tires. Being basic, the new vehicle in the popular car market offers electric steering, air conditioning, and electric front windows.

For those who do not know, the Polo Track, rival of the Fiat Argo in the popular car market, was launched last year as the simplified entry option for the Polo, even featuring the old design of the model. The move seems to have been successful, as the model was the best-selling popular passenger car in 2023 and leads the rankings in 2024.
With the German success in mind, Fiat’s new popular car aims to try to replicate the same approach with the Fiat Argo Endurance. The affordable car is available only through direct sales and aims to reach a broader audience.
Fiat and Volkswagen Revive an Old Rivalry
The Fiat Argo and the VW Polo revive the rivalry between the Palio Fire and Gol G4, which are coincidentally similar within the Brazilian popular car market. Both were cars already sold by their manufacturers that remained alive even after the launch of the third generations of both models, the New Fiat Palio and Gol G5.
Thus, they served as simpler and lower-cost options within the hatchback catalogs in question and waged a battle within this segment they created themselves.
