The Volkswagen Polo continues to lead the ranking of the best-selling cars in Brazil. For the second consecutive month, the hatch was above the Fiat Strada midsize pickup and sold 12.434 units throughout the month of April. According to figures from fenabrave, an association that brings together dealerships in the automotive industry, the pickup manufactured in Betim (MG) sold almost 1.000 fewer units in the period, with 11.497 records. However, Fiat Strada, Onix, Corolla and T-Cross remain leaders in the ranking.

Completing the podium is the Chevrolet Onix, which had 9.087 registrations. Up to fourth place, initially, where the Fiat Argo appears (8.599 units), the ranking almost repeats the month of March. The fifth position was now occupied by Hyundai HB20, which sold 8.194 units, thus taking the position of the Volkswagen T-Cross, which continues as the best-selling SUV on the market. This, however, fell to seventh place in the overall ranking.

From eighth to tenth position on the list, as in March, Chevrolet Tracker (5.670), Fiat Mobi (5.420) and Volkswagen Saveiro (5.373) appear. According to Fenabrave, registrations of cars and light commercial vehicles, led by Fiat Strada, Onix, Corolla and T-Cross, in April, registered an increase of 18,2% compared to March.

According to the entity, this adds to the good performance of retail sales. From March to April, the daily average rose 7,5%, exceeding 9.400 units.

In the last month, initially, 6.705 100% electric cars and light commercial vehicles were registered. Their best seller, again, was the BYD Dolphin Mini, with 3.143 units. That is, the battery-powered compact sold more than the renowned Toyota Corolla (3.104).

Still talking about trams, in the four months (January to April), the total, however, reached 20.832 registrations. Despite the huge percentages, which is due to the low comparative base, the growth of electric vehicles in the Brazilian automotive industry tends to be more gradual, but has been gradually strengthening, especially in large urban centers, according to the president of Fenabrave, Andreta Jr .

The list of the 10 best-selling cars in Brazil, where Fiat Strada, Onix, Corolla and T-Cross lead, is as follows:

What are the best-selling cars among launches?

Among the releases, the one that did best was Chevrolet spin restyled. The model already has a captive audience and good improvements, guaranteeing an increase in sales that kept it as the best-selling seven-seater car in the country.

The Renault Kardian has not yet grown to the point of disturbing rivals Fiat Pulse and VW Nivus, but it already represents growth over what was previously seen with the Sandero and Logan. Its brother Duster, which was updated in January, is also growing in sales.

However, the big highlight at the beginning of 2024 is the Caoa Chery Tiggo 7. Since the launch of the Sport version for R$ 134.990, the medium SUV is growing in the ranking of best-selling cars – to the point of overtaking its cheaper brother Tiggo 5X .
