The Fiat Topolino Returns to the Automotive Market in Electric Format Targeted at Young People.
Fiat, the renowned Italian manufacturer, surprised the industry by resurrecting one of its most iconic and historical models. The Fiat Topolino, now featuring a modern design, promises to be an affordable solution for those who wish to save and still move around in large cities.
Fiat Topolino Is Approximately R$ 39 Thousand (In Direct Conversion and Without Fees) and Does Not Require a License to Drive
Originally launched in 1937, the model enjoyed success until 1955, when it was replaced by another classic. Now, consumers can relive that experience with the reissue of the Fiat Topolino. This car, which marked history as Fiat’s first high-volume popular model, was discontinued with the arrival of the Nuova 500. The new version is derived from the Citroën Ami.
According to reports, the Fiat Topolino is available in Italy for 7,544 euros, equivalent to R$ 39 thousand in direct conversion, half the price of a Brazilian compact hatch. However, this model is intended only for urban use, not suitable for highways.

In Europe, the Fiat Topolino is classified as a recreational quadricycle, ideal for two passengers, unlike traditional family cars. Similar to the Citroën Ami, which has already been showcased in Brazil at restricted events, the Topolino can be driven by young people starting at 14 years old (according to European legislation), representing a significant step in Fiat’s electrification following the launch of the electric Fiat 500 in 2020.
Fiat Topolino Offers Up to 75 km of Range
As for specifications, the new Fiat Topolino is expected to follow the Ami’s standards, with a length of approximately 2.41 meters, a width of 1.39 meters, and a height of 1.52 meters. It will likely be powered by a 6 kW electric motor, fed by a 5.5 kWh battery, which can be charged from 0 to 100% in about 3 hours using a home outlet, providing a range of up to 75 km.
The images released by Fiat showcase an aesthetic design reminiscent of historical models from the 50s and 60s, with rounded headlights and gray stripes that evoke the chrome of the classics. The model is already a success in Italy, with 10,000 orders. Fiat offers an affordable payment plan: a down payment of 2,582 euros and 48 installments of 39 euros per month, approximately R$ 200 per month.
Fiat Introduces Another Compact Electric Model
In August of this year, Stellantis, one of the largest automotive conglomerates, announced its plans to launch an affordable electric car inspired by a classic Fiat. This announcement comes at a crucial moment, with the automotive industry fully transitioning to electrification.
Competition in the low-cost electric vehicle sector is intensifying, driving innovations among automakers. Oliver Francois, CEO of Fiat, mentioned in a recent interview that the new popular car will be launched in July of next year, priced below 25,000 euros, not considering tax incentives.
