An Analysis by Industry Experts Reveals the Key Banks Facilitating Solar Credit, Boosting the Sector in the Country.
In the current scenario of growing demand for renewable energy, financing for the installation of photovoltaic solar energy systems has been a challenge for many consumers and businesses. However, a recent survey conducted by industry experts provides enlightening insights into the best solar financing options available in the Brazilian market.
The Key Banks for Solar Financing
According to the survey, five banks stand out for approving the majority of financing for photovoltaic systems in Brazil. These are:
- Banco BV: offers financing for both the solar kit and installation services for individuals and companies, with considerable credit limits and the possibility of starting payments after 120 days.
- Santander: serves both individuals and companies, regardless of whether they have an account with the bank. It offers payment terms of up to 96 months, with the first installment able to be paid after 120 days.
- Banco do Brasil: with the BB Crédito Energia Renovável program, BB finances 100% of the photovoltaic system, including equipment and installation, with financing of up to R$ 100,000 available.
- Sicred: allows financing for equipment and installation, with various payment options and the requirement of membership or account opening to access the services.
- Banco Sol Fácil: aimed at individuals and companies, offers limits of up to R$ 200,000 per project for individuals and up to R$ 500,000 for companies, with payment options of up to 10 or 12 years.
This analysis is particularly relevant, considering that financing issues were the main reason for unsuccessful business proposals in the first half of 2023. Difficulties in credit approval and high-interest rates accounted for 56% of unsealed sales.

A single 560W solar panel was put to the test to try and power an entire house, and the test result shows how much a giant module can truly power a refrigerator, fan, TV, and everyday appliances in daily use.
-
How much does it cost to install solar energy, produce your own energy for a year, and how long will the investment take to pay off?
-
Saudi Arabia is building in Oxagon a US$ 8.4 billion mega green hydrogen plant with 4 GW of solar and wind energy, 5.6 million solar panels, and capacity to produce 600 tons per day, transforming the desert into one of the planet’s largest clean fuel factories.
-
Germany and Denmark will transform Bornholm into a Baltic power island, connecting 3 GW of offshore wind power to the grids of the two countries via submarine cables and turning a real island into an international energy hub.
Choosing the Right Financing
Choosing the right financing is crucial and can vary according to each client’s profile. One of the most effective strategies is to match the financing installments to the savings made with solar energy, making the investment more attractive and accessible.
The survey provides valuable insights for companies and consumers interested in solar energy. With knowledge of the banks that most approve financing and the conditions offered, it is possible to make more informed decisions, driving the advancement of the photovoltaic sector in Brazil.
