Embraer EMB-110 Aircraft, which operated in Amapá between 1979 and 1998, was transported via Avenida FAB and will be displayed at Parque Residência, a new space dedicated to memory, culture, tourism, and public heritage
For the first time in Amapá’s history, a Bandeirante airplane was transported via Avenida FAB, in Macapá, the former first runway of the capital. The operation took place on May 21 and brought the historic aircraft to Parque Residência, where it will be permanently displayed to the public.
Bandeirante Airplane made a historic journey along the old Macapá runway
The transport of the Embraer EMB-110 Bandeirante marked an important stage in the revitalization project of the former Official Governors’ House. The building is being transformed into Parque Residência, a new public space focused on memory, culture, leisure, and tourism.
The operation was coordinated by the State Department of Transport, in partnership with Detran-AP, the Infrastructure Department, and the Tourism Department. The logistics required prior planning to ensure the safe movement of the aircraft through the urban area.

First electric car in Brazil: with a French 4.3 hp motor, a range of up to 120 km, and 320 kg batteries, the Gurgel Itaipu was born in 1974, envisioned a public charging network, and became a symbol of national innovation before Tesla.
According to Setrap’s head, Marcos Jucá, the transfer was organized to occur at a time without flights. The NOA concessionaire, responsible for airport management, allowed the removal at 5 a.m., with a deadline until 10 a.m. for passing in front of the airport.
Preparation began the previous day at 2 p.m., with the placement of cones in parking spaces. The choice of Avenida FAB considered the fact that the road had already functioned as a runway and had space to accommodate the aircraft.
The airplane operated in Amapá between 1979 and 1998
The Bandeirante airplane has a direct connection with the political and administrative history of Amapá. The aircraft arrived in the state in 1979, during the Federal Territory period, and remained in operation until 1998.
The model was acquired at the time by then-governor Aníbal Barcelos and later donated by Banco do Nordeste. During almost two decades of use, it served official transport and was part of the government’s travel routine.
Among the authorities and personalities transported by the plane were former governors Aníbal Barcelos, Jorge Nova da Costa, José Lisboa Freire, and Gilton Garcia. The aircraft also transported the former Minister of the Interior, Mário Andreazza.
The state’s official aviation gained another chapter during the administration of Jorge Nova da Costa, responsible for acquiring a second Bandeirante, more modern, used by the State Government in subsequent administrations.

Permanent exhibition seeks to preserve institutional memory
The transfer of the plane to the Residence Park is part of an initiative for historical rescue, preservation of public heritage, and appreciation of the institutional memory of Amapá. The aircraft will become part of the new space’s collection.
Pilot Carlos Lima stated that Governor Clécio Luís’s idea of transforming the former Official Governors’ House into a museum and taking the plane to the location values the state’s history. He highlighted that the project gave new direction to the space.
In addition to preserving the aircraft, the proposal seeks to strengthen tourism, the creative economy, and entrepreneurship. The Residence Park will bring together memory, architecture, heritage, and innovation in an area open to public interaction.
Residence Park expands the tourist and cultural function of the capital
For professor and historian Luiz Gustavo, the transfer of the Bandeirante plane represents a historic moment for the people of Amapá. He recalled that the aircraft provided relevant services to the Government of Amapá for many years.
The historian emphasized that the plane was not only used to transport governors. It also participated in emergency missions supporting communities far from the capital, including actions related to saving lives.
With the arrival of the aircraft, the Residence Park advances as a new tourist spot in Macapá. The space now includes the former Official Governors’ House, the memory of institutional aviation, and a symbol of Amapá’s administrative history.
