Who said that a pickup can’t be sporty clearly hasn’t seen the Ford Maverick 300T, revealed at the SEMA Show 2025 in Las Vegas. The model is a true provocation to the market: it mixes the Mustang’s engine with a race car look and performance that rivals many sports hatches. More than just a concept, the Maverick 300T is a statement of Ford’s intentions about what fun behind the wheel means in 2025.
Ford Maverick 300T: Mustang Power in a Pickup Body
The name already reveals the spirit of the project. The Ford Maverick 300T has under the hood the same 2.3 EcoBoost engine that powers the Mustang, but with an even more aggressive electronic tune. The result is a setup that reaches 330 hp and makes the small utility vehicle drive like a purebred sports car.
Ford wanted to show that the Maverick platform has potential beyond its rational proposal — and SEMA, known as the “tuner’s paradise,” was the perfect stage for it.
The 10-speed automatic transmission, paired with the AWD (all-wheel drive) system, distributes power precisely, ensuring strong accelerations and secure turns. Even with all this power, the 300T doesn’t abandon the essence of a pickup: the interior space, functional bed, and robust design are still there, just turbocharged with a more aggressive touch.

Sporty Design and Breathtaking Visual Presence
What stands out most to those who see the Maverick 300T in person is its appearance. The widebody kit with flared fenders, redesigned bumpers, and larger air intakes transforms the pickup into a true race car. The 19-inch forged wheels — wrapped in low-profile tires — are another highlight, complemented by high-performance brakes and a central dual exhaust system.
The two-tone metallic paint (blue with graphite gray) creates an elegant contrast and reinforces its sporty identity. The ventilated hood, side skirts, and functional rear diffuser aren’t just for aesthetics: everything was designed to optimize the aerodynamics and cooling of the setup.
The cabin, in turn, received Recaro seats, blue stitching, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and brushed aluminum details. The result is an immersive experience for those who enjoy driving — and not just getting from point A to point B.

Precision Mechanics and Ford Performance Signature
Behind the project is the Ford Performance team, responsible for icons like the Mustang Dark Horse and the F-150 Raptor. The team worked alongside RTR Vehicles, a company owned by driver Vaughn Gittin Jr., known for transforming Mustangs into drift machines. This partnership ensured the Maverick 300T has refined dynamic behavior and a competition-ready stance.
The adjustable coil-over suspension allows for height and stiffness calibration based on the type of track or urban use. The upgraded intercooler and the new intake system ensure quicker turbo responses, while the sporty exhaust releases the robust growl typical of prepared EcoBoost engines.
With these adjustments, the pickup is no longer just utilitarian but becomes a performance laboratory — a showcase of what the public can expect from future versions of the Maverick line, should Ford decide to turn the concept into a limited series.
A New Type of Urban Sports Car
The Maverick 300T is more than just a design exercise: it’s a clear message from Ford to those who thought compact pickups were only for work. It inaugurates the idea of a “hot hatch disguised as a pickup”, merging space, power, and all-wheel drive in an unexpected format.
At SEMA 2025, the reaction was immediate — photographers, enthusiasts, and automotive influencers vied for space to capture the novelty. Ford, for its part, left open the possibility of launching a line of official accessories inspired by the project, allowing owners of the regular Maverick to bring their cars a little closer to this daring concept.
