The FPSO MV31 from Modec Will Produce at the Mero Field
The FPSO Guanabara (MV31) from Modec, built in China at the DSIC MODEC shipyard, passed through Singapore this week and is on its maiden voyage to the Mero field, operated by Petrobras (formerly Libra). It will be moored in the field at a water depth of 2,100 m. It was towed by the Boka Summit (Boskalis). The FPSO is capable of processing 180,000 barrels of crude oil per day, 12 million m³/day of gas, 225,000 barrels of water injection per day, and has a storage capacity of 1,400,000 barrels of oil.
We have not yet confirmed whether this unit will go directly to the well or if it will sail to the Brasfels Shipyard for module installation. There are also other centers of Brazilian shipbuilding that have orders. Find out which shipyards have contracts here.
