Launched more than a month ago, the Ford E-Transit electric van has already started circulating in Brazil and Chile, offering a new sustainable transportation alternative. The American brand’s innovation is available in five versions, providing wide flexibility in terms of body options and payload capacity, thus meeting various market needs.
How Much Does The New Electric Van From Ford Cost?
The best-selling version in the country so far is the Ford E-Transit L3H3, which has already sold 300 units to a single company, whose name has not been disclosed. According to Ford, the first 100 units were delivered in April, with the rest delivered throughout the year.
It’s worth noting that the Ford electric van is manufactured in Turkey by Ford Otosan and also in the United States. However, the units imported to Brazil come from Turkey as the specifications are similar to those in the country. The diesel range is assembled in Uruguay. Worldwide, Ford has already sold over 30,000 units.

Ford Electric Van Can Deliver Up To 269 Horsepower
The engine of the Ford E-Transit electric van has a power of 269 hp and instantaneous torque of 43.8 mkgf. In addition, the model comes with rear-wheel drive as standard, which makes a difference, especially for those transporting weight. Practically, the electric motor is located in the center of the chassis.
This motor drives the E-Shifter gearbox with a transmission ratio of 9.05:1. The E-Shifter controls the forward and reverse gears.
Furthermore, the Ford E-Transit electric van features three driving modes: normal, economical, and slippery. Additionally, on the lever where the driver can select the driving mode, there is an L button that, when pressed, puts the vehicle into regenerative mode.
The assembly, which includes 10 batteries, is located at the bottom of the floor. This way, it does not compromise the cargo compartment. The assembly weighs 450 kg, and Ford offers an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty.

Like all battery-powered vehicles, the Ford E-Transit electric van can be charged with alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC). Thus, with a DC charger of 115 kWh, the van can be charged 80% in up to 34 minutes.
With an AC charger of 11 kWh, charging occurs in 8 hours. To ensure safety, there is a safety lock where the plug is inserted.
The Ford E-Transit features gas shock absorbers and McPherson-type suspension, with independent coil springs and stabilizer bar. The standard equipment list for the Ford electric van includes a tire monitoring sensor, autonomous braking assistant warning for both forward and reverse, and lane-keeping assistant.
