Federal Institute – IF – Offers 2,740 Spots in 70 Free Courses: Register by October 27, 2024 for Bachelor’s, Licentiate, and Technologist Courses in Various Areas Such as Sciences and Technology
The Federal Institute of Piauí (IFPI) opened registrations for the first semester of 2025, offering 2,740 spots in 70 free higher education courses. The opportunities are distributed across 19 campuses of the institution. Interested candidates must register on the IFPI website between September 9 and October 27, 2024. To participate, it is necessary to have a registration on the Gov.br portal. If the candidate does not have an account yet, they will need to create it before applying.
The registration has a cost of R$ 40, which must be paid exclusively through the agencies, apps, or ATMs of Banco do Brasil, as well as its banking correspondents.
Candidates from families registered in the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico), with a per capita family income equal to or less than half the minimum wage, can request a waiver of the registration fee.

Types of Free Courses Offered by IFPI
IFPI offers three types of higher education courses: bachelor’s, licentiate, and technologist (descriptions below). The selection exam is scheduled for December 8, and will consist of 70 objective multiple-choice questions and one essay. The final result will be announced starting January 10, 2025.
Bachelor’s Degree
This higher education course provides broad training, with a scientific or humanistic focus, preparing the student to work in professional, academic, or cultural areas, conferring the title of bachelor. Typically, the duration of the course varies from four to five years. Students who are completing or have already completed high school may apply.
Licentiate
Focused on training teachers, this course prepares professionals to work in basic education, conferring the degree of licentiate. It has a minimum duration of four years. Students who are completing or have already completed high school can participate.
Technologist
This higher education course focuses on technological and scientific areas, equipping the student to work in specific sectors, resulting in the degree of technologist. The average duration of the course varies from two to three years. Like the other modalities, those who are completing or have already completed high school may apply.
