Public selection based on the Enem opens doors for free graduation in technology, with limited spots, expected entry for 2026 and requirement for recent participation in the national exam.
The Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte launched a selection process for the higher education course of Internet Systems in the distance education modality, offering 40 spots with expected entry for the second academic semester of 2026, without the application of its own tests.
In this model, the classification will be made exclusively based on the Enem scores obtained between 2021 and 2025, while registrations remain open until May 4, 2026, the final deadline for participation in the official IFRN system.
IFRN opens spots for distance graduation in technology
Aimed at those who have already completed high school, the selection expands access to public higher education in technology, requiring only prior performance in the national exam, which eliminates additional steps and facilitates the participation of candidates from different regions.

The São Paulo government opens 1,700 spots in free courses in the capital and Greater São Paulo, with classes starting on April 27 and registrations available in person or online for areas with high demand in the job market.
During registration, the candidate must indicate which edition of the Enem they wish to use, with this choice being definitive, as the institution automatically checks the scores through the CPF provided in the official selection process system.
Additionally, there is an important eliminatory criterion that requires attention from the start, as any candidate who has obtained a zero score in one of the tests, including the essay, will be automatically excluded from the competition for a spot.
Training in Internet Systems and professional activity
Offered by the Natal-Zona Leste Campus, the course integrates the technology area focused on digital development and seeks to train professionals prepared to work in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of systems and applications aimed at the internet.
Throughout the training, students develop skills related to building websites, web applications, and digital solutions, as well as knowledge in data organization and integration of systems used in contemporary digital environments.
Also included in the curriculum are contents related to system architecture, usability, and information security, aspects that are increasingly present in the routine of companies operating with digital platforms and online services.
Although the format is distance learning, the adopted model does not completely eliminate the physical presence of the student, as IFRN requires participation in specific in-person activities throughout the course.
In this context, the announcement reinforces that assessments must occur in person, conducted in centers or units indicated by the institution, following the guidelines established for distance education courses.
Requirements to participate in the selection through Enem
To compete for one of the spots, it is necessary to have completed high school and have a valid performance in at least one edition of the Enem between 2021 and 2025, as the entire selection process is based exclusively on these scores.
Unlike other admission models, there are no local exams, which makes the history of the national exam the only criterion for classifying candidates.
Following current legislation, half of the spots are reserved for students who have completed high school entirely in public schools, with internal distribution based on income, self-declaration, and other inclusion policies.
Within this system, there are subdivisions that include black, brown, or indigenous candidates, people with disabilities, and also quilombola candidates, as detailed in the announcement published by the institution.
In total, there are 18 spots for open competition, in addition to 2 reserved for people with disabilities in this same category, while the remaining opportunities are distributed among the reserved lists provided.
Another relevant point involves proving the declared conditions, as quota candidates need to present documentation that proves income, school history, and other criteria required for validation of the application.
Registration fee, exemption, and dates of the selection process
To confirm participation, it is necessary to pay a fee of R$ 25, generated by a boleto in the IFRN system, respecting the deadline defined in the official schedule of the selection process.
Still, candidates registered in the CadÚnico can request exemption from the fee, provided they meet the established income criteria and have a valid and updated Social Identification Number.
The registration period began on April 8, 2026 and runs until May 4, 2026, while the deadline to request exemption ends on April 21, with results expected to be announced a few days later.
Payment of the fee can be made until May 5, an essential step for confirming the registration of those who do not obtain exemption.
According to the schedule, the final result is expected on June 16, 2026, followed by the pre-registration and online registration stages, which take place between June 23 and July 1.
If there are still remaining spots after this phase, new calls may be made starting in July, depending on the need and availability of classified candidates.
How to register at IFRN
To participate, the candidate must access the Candidate Portal of the IFRN Selection System and fill out the form within the established deadline, providing personal information and the edition of the Enem that will be used for classification.
During this process, it will also be necessary to attach required documents for competing for reserved spots, when applicable, ensuring that all information is correct before finalizing the registration.
After completing this step, the system will allow the issuance of the payment slip in the amount of R$ 25, and the tracking of the next phases, including results, possible appeals, and the confirmation of the final classification.
