“The airport has long been a desire of the municipality. It makes perfect sense to have such a facility here to support local logistics and the economy.
Our goal is to ensure that by 2026 we already have flights operating in Itapetininga,” said Tarcísio de Freitas during the official announcement.
Initially, the plan was for the city hall to conduct the investment entirely. However, the state government intervened to accelerate the timeline and ensure that the project was completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Regional Impacts and ANAC Approval
According to the Mayor of Itapetininga, Jeferson Brun, the project has undergone detailed analysis and has already received clearance from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
The infrastructure is expected to transform the city into a new logistics center, enhancing regional connectivity and boosting the local economy with new business opportunities.
“The airport strategically positions Itapetininga, bringing more options for air transport and attracting investments.
The city and the southwest region will see significant benefits from this project,” stated Brun.

Sinceramente, não vejo a necessidade de um aeroporto em Itapetininga, pra que????? Rodovia e até ferrovia, seria muito mais atrativo, principalmente para o escoamento da produção agrícola local que é bastante pujante.
