Goiás Government Announces Construction Package in Anápolis Focused on the Ring Road, Road Recovery, and Solutions for Environmental Damage at the Cargo Airport
The acting governor of Goiás, Daniel Vilela (MDB), announced on Tuesday (13) a construction package for Anápolis. The highlight is the resumption of the construction of the Ring Road in the Anápolis Agro-Industrial District (Daia), the recovery of streets and rural roads, and the solution to environmental problems at the Cargo Airport.
According to Vilela, the interventions will boost the city’s development. “These are structural works with great potential to further leverage Anápolis’ economic growth,” he stated.
He also emphasized the partnership with Mayor Márcio Corrêa and mentioned that new collaborations may arise as local demands come up.

Ring Road to Be Completed in 2025
The Ring Road project will receive an investment of R$ 31.5 million. The road will be 7.9 kilometers long and will connect GO-330 to Presidente Vargas, Loide Belo Horizonte, Rua 11, and Alameda Adilson Santos.
“We will complete this important road still this year, and, God willing, with the presence of Governor Caiado, we will deliver it to the Anápolis population,” Vilela said.
Environmental Works at the Cargo Airport
The Cargo Airport will also be included. The focus now is to correct the environmental damage caused by the lack of drainage works during its construction, which began in 2014.
The absence of this system led to soil displacement and siltation in permanent preservation areas in Barreiro, Descampado creeks, and the Extrema River.
To resolve the situation, the government will carry out drainage and channeling works on the sides of the runway. The captured water will be directed to the Extrema River, where it will undergo treatment with engineering structures that reduce flow speed and prevent further siltation.
The projects are expected to be completed by May, with work scheduled to begin in 2025.
R$ 80 Million to Recover the Airport
The initial measures at the Cargo Airport are part of a set of actions budgeted at around R$ 80 million.
The president of the Goiás Agency of Infrastructure and Transport (Goinfra), Pedro Sales, explained that the works were halted due to a public civil action from the Public Ministry. This action prevented new investments unless the environmental damage was contained and compensated first.
Investments in Streets and Rural Roads
In addition to the Ring Road and the airport, the state government will invest R$ 10 million in the recovery of streets, avenues, and six crossings on rural roads. The works are expected to take place during the dry season. Currently, 14 machines are already operating in Anápolis to repair damage caused by the rains.
New Phase of Works with Contracted Company
The lack of drainage was also identified in the Ring Road. Now, according to the government, a new contract with a specialized company will allow the project to be executed quickly and safely.
