The First And Second Installments Of The Assistance Will Be Paid By The Government To Truck Drivers On August 9
This week, the regulation regarding the Emergency Benefit for Autonomous Cargo Transporters (BEm Truck Driver) was published in the “Official Federal Gazette.” Thus, it was established by government agencies that the assistance will be paid through the digital social savings account, with the deposit being operationalized by Caixa Econômica Federal via the Caixa Tem app.
The government’s expectation is that the BEm Truck Driver will benefit around 900 thousand autonomous cargo transporters. According to the calendar shown below, the first two installments of the assistance, which amount to R$ 1,000, will be paid to truck drivers across the country on August 9. These installments correspond to the months of July and August. The remaining four installments will be paid by December, when the benefit ends.
The digital social savings account, which must be accessed via the Caixa Tem app, has been used in the country since the payment of the Emergency Assistance. According to the government’s determination, amounts that have not been moved for a period of 90 days, counted from the deposit date, must return to the Union.

The benefit for truck drivers is included in the pre-election social package created by the Kamikaze Amendment, enacted on July 14 by Congress. The constitutional amendment increased the gas voucher, raised the amount of the Auxílio Brasil from R$ 400 to R$ 600, and created a “voucher” for truck drivers and assistance for taxi drivers. In this view, the total cost of the package reaches R$ 41.2 billion, of which R$ 5.4 billion is allocated to truck drivers.
What Is Necessary To Receive The Benefit
All autonomous cargo transporters properly registered with the National Register of Cargo Road Transporters (RNTR-C) by May 31 of this year are entitled to the assistance. Those with “pending” or “suspended” registration status may still regularize their registration with the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT), also qualifying as beneficiaries of the assistance.
The monthly payment of the benefit is independent of the number of vehicles the truck drivers own. Additionally, there is no need to present proof of diesel purchases to be entitled to the amount. Professionals must have a valid CNH and CPF.
The ANTT, linked to the Ministry of Infrastructure, is responsible for forwarding truck drivers’ data to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Therefore, before distributing resources, the ministry analyzes which workers will be eligible for assistance.
Monthly, the ANTT will send the ministry the list of truck drivers with active RNTR-C. Dataprev, a technology company partnered with the federal government, will be responsible for the analysis, cross-referencing, and verification of the data provided by the ANTT, whose information is available in federal government databases, in order to verify the established criteria. The objective is to identify professionals eligible for receiving the benefit.
The BEm Truck Driver will not be released if one of the following situations is verified:
- The truck driver has a CPF pending regularization with the Federal Revenue of Brazil, in a suspended, canceled, null, or deceased holder situation;
- The truck driver has their CPF linked to the granting of a death pension of any kind or assistance for imprisonment;
- The truck driver is the holder of a permanent incapacity benefit for work;
- The beneficiary has an indicator of death in the Death Control System or the National Civil Registry Information System.
If irregularities for undue payment are found, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security will cancel the benefit, and the beneficiary will be notified for voluntary restitution of the amounts.
How Can The Truck Driver Check If They Are Eligible To Receive The Assistance?
The professional can check their status in the RNTR-C through the ANTT website. For this, information about the transporter, location, or vehicle can be used.
Moreover, the truck driver registered in the RNTR-C can also update their registration information, such as links, address, contacts, or specific information according to category. Change requests must be made through the RNTR-C Digital or in person at service points accredited by the ANTT.
Through this link, it will be possible to consult the payments made and information about the results of the processing.
