Governor of Ceará State Claims That the Distribution of More Than 200,000 Gas Cylinders Will Benefit Low-Income Families
The Government of Ceará State announced, through a live broadcast on its social media, another social measure to help families in Ceará during the pandemic. Specifically aiming at cooking gas, the Government of Ceará will purchase 250,000 gas cylinders to deliver to the most vulnerable families in the State, repeating the action from 2020.

“The Government of the State will send to each municipality the gas voucher coupon, so that each city can provide the benefit to families registered in social programs and that they receive gas cylinders. This action was only possible with the repetition of the partnership with the Ceará company Nacional Gás Butano, which will supply the product at cost price to the State, with delivery scheduled between April 7 and 9 to the municipalities, who will then distribute to families in Ceará,” explained Camilo.
Partnership of the State Government with Nacional Gás for the Distribution of Gas Cylinders
The measure for the distribution of gas cylinders is a partnership with Nacional Gás, which will sell the cylinders at cost price to the state. The Executive President of Grupo Edson Queiroz, Carlos Rotella, commented on the initiative.

“Grupo Edson Queiroz, through Nacional Gás, once again contributes to facing the pandemic in Ceará with the distribution of gas cylinders. We facilitated the acquisition, by the Government of the State, of 250,000 gas refills, which will be passed on to families in difficulty at this time. We joined the joint effort to help thousands of people in Ceará with our cooking gas, an essential product for basic needs during this period of strict isolation”, he said.
Assistance to the People of Ceará
After announcing yet another social policy from the Government of Ceará, Camilo Santana listed a series of measures implemented during this pandemic that assist the sectors of Bars, Restaurants, and Food Services, including one that was sanctioned during the live broadcast, which includes the payment of an emergency aid of R$ 1,000 to workers in these sectors who are unemployed.
“Registration to receive this aid is being done through the Department of Tourism, so I am already regulating the law, so that Setur can release these funds,” he said.
Among the actions to support the most vulnerable families in Ceará, the governor stated that around 493,000 families in Ceará will have their water bills waived through Cagece (low-income families consuming up to 10 m³ per month) and the Sisar System (Rural Area);
The expansion from 70,000 to 150,000 families benefiting from the Mais Infância Ceará Card, receiving R$ 100 monthly;
Distribution of 347,000 internet data chips with a package of 20GB per month and 120,000 tablets for students in the state public education system, in addition to the distribution of food kits; Catador Aid, which became a permanent public policy, providing a monthly benefit of ¼ of the minimum wage to waste pickers working in solid waste collection.
