Investments Made by the Federal Government in Maranhão Railroads Reinforce Commitment to Logistics for Cargo Flow in the MATOPIBA Axis
On last Thursday (2), during the opening of Railway September, at an event held at the Palácio do Planalto, the Federal Government announced that it received proposals from two private companies to invest in Maranhão railroads, as well as other proposals for investments in two more states, namely Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso. The Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Freitas, signed ten authorization requests for the construction of these new railroads. During the event, the minister highlighted that the Federal Government has already made more than R$ 1 trillion in contracted investments. Tarcísio also mentioned that this is the month in which Brazil celebrates its logistical independence. The concession contract for the West-East Integration Railroad was signed last Friday (3) in Bahia.
