Actions Taken Throughout 2025 Resulted in the Recovery of Electrical Materials, Arrests, and Strengthening of Energy Network Security in the Seven States Where the Group Operates
Throughout 2025, the Equatorial Group recovered over R$ 2.4 million in stolen electrical materials, as well as over 63 tons of cables, following 294 integrated operations.
Since the beginning of the year, actions took place in Alagoas, Amapá, Goiás, Maranhão, Pará, Piauí, and Rio Grande do Sul, always in partnership with public security forces.
In this context, 159 people were arrested during the operations.
Additionally, as a direct result, there was disruption of illegal schemes, reinforcement of electrical network security, and preservation of energy supply to the population.

More than 80 million kilometers of wires need to be replaced by 2040: the energy transition doesn’t just depend on panels and electric cars, but on a colossal race for copper, aluminum, transformers, and recycling of old cables.
At the same time, the teams conducted inspections in scrapyards, recyclers, and collection points.
In this way, it was possible to identify materials of suspicious origin and disrupt illegal commercialization.
At the same time, posters with the Equatorial Group’s 0800 number were placed in the visited establishments.
Thus, the initiative also encouraged anonymous reports, increasing community participation.
Results by State in the Last Phase of the Operation
During this most recent phase, the results were distributed among the states:
- Piauí: 938 kg recovered, totaling R$ 45.9 thousand
- Goiás: 498 kg, totaling R$ 15.3 thousand
- Rio Grande do Sul: 40 kg, valued at R$ 3.6 thousand
Furthermore, Maranhão, Pará, and Alagoas recorded recoveries between 14 kg and 314 kg, with values ranging from R$ 1.3 thousand to R$ 8.2 thousand.
