Honda Will Present Its New Electric Car at The Beginning of October. The Mysterious Vehicle Is Made of Recycled Plastic and Promises to Be Environmentally Friendly.
Honda recently announced a comprehensive schedule for the Japan Mobility Show 2023, where it plans to make several world premieres. The highlight will be its environmentally friendly electric car called Specialty Sports Concept, for which the automaker has not yet revealed teasers or images.
Honda’s Electric Car May Have a Connection with The Sports EV Concept
The details of the environmentally friendly vehicle are shrouded in mystery, although we know it will be fully electric and fun to drive, even though it will not have an internal combustion engine. Honda claims that the joy of driving and the distinctive individuality of this model will allow people to transcend their everyday lives.
Enthusiasts should wait to see if the new environmentally friendly electric car has any connection with the Sports EV Concept, despite this one being six years old since its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2017.

World Premieres Anticipated for The Japan Mobility Show
The other world premieres scheduled for this year’s Japan Mobility Show are a bit less exciting. Sporting a red color with a white roof, the cute SUSTANIA-C Concept looks like a smaller Honda e with a body made of recyclable and reusable acrylic resin. It’s the same story with the Pocket Concept, a pint-sized motorcycle designed with a focus on environmental sustainability, wasting fewer resources.
As for the CI-MEV, it takes the form of a two-seat electric hatchback focusing on last-mile mobility and equipped with automated driving technology.
Finally, the SC e: Concept has a name that might make consumers think of Renault’s naturally aspirated gasoline engines; however, it is an electric motorcycle with interchangeable batteries. It is powered by a pair of Honda Mobile Power Pack units.
Honda Brings Prologue Prototype to The Event Debut
The Japan Mobility Show 2023 will begin on October 25 with the first press day. Honda is also bringing the Prologue Prototype for its local debut. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi is present at the event to unveil a new lifestyle vehicle.
It’s important to note that Honda is joining forces with a Chinese automaker to launch a new electric car brand. Automakers like Volkswagen, Toyota, and others already have consortia in China. However, according to data, with Lingxi, Honda will be the first to launch an entirely original brand.
Together, the Chinese and Japanese automakers plan to be at the forefront of the industry, with a powerful consortium to dominate the Chinese market. This is because Lingxi will cover the main sectors of electrification: pure electric cars, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids.
Honda Launches Electric Car e:Ny1
In May, Honda, the multinational automaker founded in Japan, presented this week its second electric car for the European market.
The vehicle, named Honda e:Ny1, is an electric SUV based on the new dedicated platform and looks nearly identical to the well-known HR-V. Thus, it serves as the European version of the Honda e:NS1/e:NP1 models launched in the Chinese market.
In this way, Honda fulfills the promise made in 2022 to expand its line of electric cars in the Old Continent. Those who are more familiar with the Chinese electric car market will recognize that this model is essentially the same as the Honda e:NS1/e:NP1 sold in the world’s largest vehicle market. With the new electric car, it is based on a new platform called e Architecture F.
