Huawei and Other 50 Investors Plan to Power More Than a Thousand Homes Located in the Municipality of São Félix, Tocantins with the Solar Power Plant
Brazilian entrepreneurs, along with Huawei and another 50 companies, will invest in the construction project of a new solar power plant in Tocantins. The announcement came during the ZMatch City event, which will take place until August 29. At the event, in addition to the other investors, the president of Huawei Digital Power in Brazil, Mason Qing, was also present. The realization of the first solar power plant in the Jalapão Park aims to supply energy to about 1,600 families in the surrounding municipality of São Félix, Tocantins.

Huawei’s new solar power plant in Brazil aims to supply energy free of charge to a large part of the population of São Félix do Jalapão by the end of 2022. “Huawei is investing heavily in photovoltaic plants. In the future, we will foresee more technology in projects like this, with a strong focus on solar energy. Brazil has immense potential in this area,” said Qing Changchun, country manager of Huawei in Brazil.
The investors intend to enable the use of solar energy for the residents of São Félix in phases, so that everyone can adapt to this new style of energy generation, as explained by Luca Milani, the founder of 77 Sol, a major platform for savings through solar energy. “The plant will be one, without the installation of individual panels in homes, providing energy in a centralized manner,” said Milani.
Visibility and Inspiration
Sylvio de Barros believes that gradually, it will be possible to not only neutralize environmental impacts in Tocantins but also help in the process of nature regeneration. Barros stated that, with the support of the community and government officials, they can bring even more visibility to the state and also inspire other states in the country to follow the same path.
