Discover Everything About the Hyundai Azera, A Car Priced at R$ 50 Thousand That Is Leaving Luxury Rivals Behind. Sold Here Since 2007, The Model Delivers Great Technologies And Goes From 0 To 100 Km/h In Just 8 Seconds.
Currently, a well-equipped midsize sedan in the market already exceeds R$ 160 thousand, an amount that a few years ago was restricted to brands like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. However, for around R$ 50 thousand, it is possible to acquire a used executive sedan with a powerful engine, comfort, and useful features for everyday life. This is the Hyundai Azera. Launched in January 2012, the vehicle broke away from the old conservative style by adopting Hyundai’s bold fluid sculpture design.
Robust and spacious, the Hyundai Azera has become one of the favorites among armored vehicle manufacturers due to the placement of the Lambda II aluminum engine, a V6 3.0 with dual variable timing, capable of generating 250 horsepower and 28.8 mkgf, always coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Azera was offered in two versions, Complete (T696) and Fully Equipped (T695). The first version of the R$ 50 thousand car includes a photocrhomic mirror, dual-zone digital air conditioning (with vents in the back), multifunction steering wheel, leather seats (heating and electric adjustment), front and rear parking sensors, ABS, front airbags, curtain airbags, and knee airbags for the driver, and 18-inch wheels.

Sunroof, Xenon Headlights, 3D Effect Dashboard, And Much More
The second option of the Hyundai Azera adds keyless entry (which starts the engine), panoramic sunroof, xenon headlights, stability and traction controls, 3D effect instrument panel, electric parking brake with hill start assist, electric rear curtain, and lighting on the dashboard and doors below the trims.
The Hyundai Azera remained unchanged until the 2015 line, which only had the top version. The R$ 50 thousand car underwent a slight redesign, with a revamped bumper and grille, and the interior received a new dashboard with an 8-inch multimedia center.
Hyundai Azera Can Reach 225 Km/h
Like every executive sedan, the R$ 50 thousand car experienced significant depreciation, resulting in prices well below the market table. Well established in the market, it is known for not having chronic problems, however, it is necessary to check how closely its maintenance schedule has been followed.
The Mercedes C280 weighs 1,555 kg, while the Azera weighs 1,640 kg, resulting in a ratio of 6.7 kg/hp for both. Additionally, the C280 comes with a seven-speed sequential transmission that allows better exploitation of engine power than the five-speed sequential of the Hyundai Azera. However, indeed, the Azera is more powerful than the Mercedes.
In tests, the R$ 50 thousand car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 225.1 km/h. In braking, it performed excellently. Furthermore, its fuel consumption averaged 7 km/l in the city and 10.8 km/l on the highway.
Discover The History Of The Hyundai Azera
The Hyundai Azera is a sedan manufactured and sold worldwide by Hyundai Motor Company since 1986. Initially, Hyundai’s project was a badge engineering, meaning selling the same vehicle under two or more different brands, from the second generation of the Mitsubishi Debonair.
In 1992, the second generation, also called New Grandeur, and the third generation of its Mitsubishi counterpart were launched.
Only in 1998 did Hyundai launch the vehicle entirely developed by the company. It is worth mentioning that the Hyundai Grandeur is sold as Hyundai Azera in North America, Asia, Africa, and South America. In Brazil, the R$ 50 thousand car began to be imported in late 2007, imported from South Korea.
