National Opportunity Offers Attractive Scholarships, Free Applications, and Vacancies in All Regions of Brazil, with Online Tests and a Focus on Inclusion.

A new public selection started on June 11, 2025 by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). Since then, it has been mobilizing university students across the country.

In total, there are 351 internship vacancies for higher education students in various fields. Activities are expected to start in 2025.

Therefore, the initiative gained rapid attention. It covers all federal units, including the Federal District.

The Company-School Integration Center (CIEE) coordinates registrations and evaluations. Thus, it ensures agility and organization in each stage of the selection process.

Online Tests and Scholarships of up to R$ 1,125

According to the IBGE, the selection takes place through an online objective test, consisting of 20 questions. Each question has a maximum time of two minutes.

Additionally, the system automatically corrects the answers. This makes the ranking more efficient.

The scholarships vary according to the weekly workload. Those who work 20 hours a week receive R$ 787.98. Meanwhile, those who work 30 hours a week secure R$ 1,125.69 per month.

Another attractive aspect is the daily transportation allowance of R$ 10 for days of in-person work. This makes the program more accessible.

Applications Open Until July 1

According to the announcement, interested candidates have until July 1, 2025, at noon to register on the CIEE website.

Besides being simple, registration is completely free, which expands the reach of the selection.

To participate, it is necessary to be enrolled from the 3rd semester of the undergraduate program and prove regular attendance in the course.

Even more significantly, the announcement includes students from more than 25 courses. Among them are Administration, Statistics, Law, Geography, and International Relations.

Moreover, there are reserved quotas for black, mixed-race, and disabled students. This ensures diversity and inclusion in the program.

Schedule and Stages of the Selection

The tests must be completed by the same day the applications close. Therefore, candidates need to finish the tests by July 1.

Focusing on objective content, the tests will cover Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, Current Events, and Geography.

Shortly after the end of applications, the IBGE will announce the preliminary results. The forecast is for July 17, 2025.

Then, the highest-ranking candidates will be called for in-person interviews. Each regional unit of the IBGE will be responsible for this stage.

Afterwards, those approved will start activities still in the second semester. The schedule provides for immediate convocations.

Vacancies Spread Across All States

As highlighted by the IBGE’s people management manager, Roberta Fadel, the new selection addresses a long-standing demand from the institution.

In total, the 351 vacancies are distributed among the 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District.

Places like Bahia, Pará, Alagoas, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro appear among those that concentrate the most opportunities.

Thus, students do not need to leave their states to participate. This makes the process fairer and more accessible.

Furthermore, the decentralized model ensures broad reach. Each region receives attention proportionate to its demands.

Practical Training and Professional Qualification

According to Bruno Malheiros, coordinator of Human Resources at the IBGE, the program goes beyond a common experience.

Therefore, he considers the internship a strategic investment in the future of research and statistical production in the country.

The proposal combines technical training and practical experience, which enhances the preparation of students for the job market.

In this way, students develop real competencies. They learn not only theory but also the workings of public administration.

Duration of the Internship and Institutional Monitoring

The duration of the contract can vary between 6 and 24 months, according to the guidelines of the Internship Law.

Each intern will have direct supervision from a professional in the field. This strengthens monitoring and guidance throughout the journey.

Moreover, all participants will be periodically evaluated. Biannual reports are also part of the monitoring structure.

Therefore, the IBGE maintains its commitment to formative excellence and the technical rigor of its programs.

Ideal Time to Secure a Vacancy

With competitive scholarships, accessible applications, and a well-structured program, the IBGE selection stands out as one of the best opportunities of the year.

Thus, if you are in college, this could be your chance to gain public experience, financial support, and practical training at the same time.

Will you let this opportunity pass or do you want to take the first step in a nationally impactful career?
