With Half Of The Positions Reserved For Social Quotas, IMD Ensures Democratic Access To The 720 Positions In Technology Courses, Training Professionals For An Increasingly Digital And Competitive Market

The Digital Metropolitan Institute (IMD), linked to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), announced the opening of 720 positions in technology courses, distributed between Natal and centers in the interior of the state. The initiative aims to train young people and adults in strategic areas of Information Technology, a sector that continues to grow rapidly and demands qualified labor.

According to the announcement, the courses cover everything from computer networks to digital game programming, including internet computing training. The selection process combines accessibility, social inclusion, and a focus on the job market, reinforcing IMD’s commitment to professional training in Rio Grande do Norte.

Who Can Compete For The Technology Course Positions

The positions in technology courses are open to students who have completed or are currently enrolled in high school, as well as young people finishing the 9th year of elementary school.

Half of the opportunities will be allocated to candidates from public schools, people with disabilities, and other groups covered by social quotas, expanding inclusion in access to technical education.

This selection model allows young people from different backgrounds a chance to prepare for a sector that is growing at a rate higher than the average of the Brazilian economy.

The quota policy ensures not only diversity but also social justice in the distribution of opportunities.

Structure Of The Selection Process

The selection process will include an exam on October 26, consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions.

The contents include Critical, Computational Thinking, and Problem Solving, as well as Essential Mathematics.

The objective is to assess fundamental skills for learning in technology, identifying the candidates best prepared for academic and professional challenges.

The registration fee has been set at R$ 30, and the entire process can be conducted online, through Comperve’s website.

For many candidates, this is a gateway to an education that can transform careers and open doors in the competitive IT market.

Courses Offered And Areas Of Activity

Among the available options are courses such as Internet Computing, Digital Game Programming, and Computer Networks.

Each of these covers areas of great relevance in the current landscape, where companies and institutions demand professionals capable of dealing with innovation, data security, and digital solution development.

The hybrid format, with in-person and distance classes, expands the program’s reach, allowing students from the interior of the state to access the same opportunities as those in the capital.

Calling Of Approved Candidates And Next Steps

The first call of approved candidates will be announced between December 8 and 10, with a second call expected by December 19, should there be any remaining vacancies.

The calendar has been planned to ensure that all opportunities are filled by qualified and engaged candidates.

For UFRN and IMD, the opening of these positions reinforces the strategic role of the university in promoting regional development.

Training technology professionals means directly investing in the economic and social future of Rio Grande do Norte.

Do you believe that increasing the positions in technology courses is enough to prepare young people for the job market? Or are there still policies needed to connect this education with real jobs?
