The expansion of doses against clostridioses boosts livestock farming, strengthens the role of the animal health industry, and increases supply expectations until the end of 2026
A new update on vaccines against clostridioses was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, attracting attention from the livestock sector. The Ministry reported that more than 12.3 million doses were made available in the Brazilian market in the first half of May 2026, and, with this, a new stage of supply expansion began to directly influence the animal health industry. The update includes both national and imported vaccines and still focuses on expanding the supply of immunizers. This movement shows that the federal government sought to combine internal production, authorized imports, and faster release to reorganize the availability of doses in the country.
Technical release reveals progress in national doses
The release announced by the Ministry results from actions taken to expand the supply of immunizers and, therefore, reinforces the importance of national production in supply. After all, of the total released in the first half of May, about 9.2 million doses are produced in Brazil. Moreover, this volume represents just over 75% of the amount made available in the period and confirms the majority participation of national manufacturing. Another 3 million doses correspond to imported vaccines authorized for commercialization in the national territory. However, the supply remains linked to the pace of production, inspection, and entry of new batches in the coming months.
Ministry expands dialogue with the animal health industry
The strategy involves direct coordination between the federal government and the animal health industry and, therefore, seeks to accelerate different stages of supply. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, the government has been maintaining dialogue with the sector to increase national production and facilitate the entry of imported products. Additionally, the ministry is also working to speed up the processes of inspection and release of vaccines. This scenario highlights how the expansion of supply depends on simultaneous measures, from manufacturing to commercialization authorization.

March and April already showed growth in release
The expansion of supply had already been recorded in March and April 2026, before the update announced in May. During this period, more than 14.6 million doses against clostridioses were released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. Of this volume, approximately 9.3 million were of national manufacture and more than 5.2 million came from imports authorized by the Ministry. This history demonstrates that the replenishment of supply has been occurring gradually, with joint participation from the Brazilian industry and imported vaccines.
Sindan Estimate Projects Supply Until December
Currently, the National Union of the Animal Health Products Industry monitors the supply evolution and projects deliveries for the coming months. Sindan’s initial forecast indicates a supply of between 8 million and 10 million doses per month until December 2026. Thus, the industry estimates surpassing the mark of 100 million vaccines against clostridioses by the end of the period. The possibility of increased production in the second half also reinforces the expectation of gradual expansion of supply.
Supply in a Broader Context
The supply of vaccines against clostridioses follows a dynamic that combines national production, authorized importation, and regulatory release, but at the same time, depends on the monthly delivery pace. This behavior reinforces the importance of monitoring how each batch made available influences the Brazilian veterinary immunization market. Thus, the forecast of more than 100 million doses by December becomes part of a larger strategy of supply reorganization in the country.
The Future of the Supply of Vaccines Against Clostridioses
Producers, industry, and government assess that the expansion of deliveries could represent a decisive stage for the supply of immunizations in Brazil. The ability to maintain monthly deliveries between 8 million and 10 million doses generates expectation, although the final volume depends on production and authorizations throughout the second half. Meanwhile, the need to monitor the availability of vaccines reinforces attention on the performance of the animal health industry.
In this scenario, will the industry be able to maintain the necessary pace to surpass 100 million vaccines against clostridioses by December 2026?
